Go to the attraction you want to visit. get your pass signed. then shop eat stroll or get a standard fast pass to another attraction and then return to your determined time. Its like having 2 fast passes at once. Of course it is helpful to have numerous activities close by so you are no traversing the park 10 times . This worked well, but the crowds were low so,,,,,,We will have to see what happens during peak times. I don;t feel good about it.

It seems like WDW's system will be much easier for the average park goer, who may not know all the tricks of getting around the park, or where everything is

The price of Disney stock actually rose over the last week.

    Disneyland is still very busy.

And somehow all those handicapped folks who don't use wheelchairs or walkers and can walk from Space Mountain to Cars Land, and wait in line for parking lot trams and Mochas at the Main Street Starbucks, have been able to plan their day with a DAS and stand in a few lines.

Life has gone on. Without the GAC.

Funny how that works, isn't it?

I can however fervently assure you that the new GAC policy at Disney Parks is no where in that list.

To be disappointed is an acceptable response, not necessarily justified but acceptable. When you jump to outrage 'me thinks ye dost protest too loudly'.

The new policy is more than fair. I'm past 60 & my back & knees are less than optimal after 43+ yrs in healthcare. There are rides I can no longer reasonably ride. I don't go to our local amusement park because it consist almost entirely of thrill rides. It would never occur to me to demand they revamp & or add rides that I could enjoy.

There is a special place in Heaven for those that care(appropriately) for people with special needs. But that being said there is also the responsiblity to recognize & accept the very real limitations that come with those needs.

The new policy will meet the needs of the vast majority of folks with special needs & as a bonus will enhance the experience for the able bodied guest. I see it as a win/win.

For me something good has come out of the bad of the Park Ave moms. The system needed a good overhauling and it has gotten it. Disney is in the process of looking at all its queues to see how best to make them all wheelchair accessible. And the new system seems fair.

And here we are, two weeks later, and the world continues to revolve around the sun.

Disneyland is still open, the Disney stock price is still trending upward, and the self-absorbed women (and yes, they were all women, just noting for accuracy) who were outraged over this new DAS thing have shrunk back into the obscurity of their tacky Facebook accounts and lightly-visited Mommy Blogs they pour their hearts into every night.

GAC is dead, DAS is King. Next crisis, please?

Some crisis's take longer to get over then others. On the bright side you can look at it like this. If someone would have replaced the powder with anthrax you would have been over it a long time ago. Along with everything else. :)

Did they ever get those manhole covers properly aligned in Disneyland Paris? I'm still fuming over that.

DAS is still with us, and the world didn't come to an end. For the third week. :)

For the time being, this allows multiple sets of reservations (FP, DAS) to run concurrently, giving DAS users a big advantage. It will be interesting to see how the system ends up working when FP+ is fully rolled out and the paper FPs are eliminated entirely. It will also be interesting to see the differences between DLR and WDW, where FP habits are very different

The parent in that review (a rare Dad in a world of Mommy Bloggers) still seems a bit put out by the planning and timing required to use both Fastpass and DAS in the same visit. Welcome to the 21st century; everyone else has been forced into planning their visits to WDW like the invasion of Normandy for years now. The folks now using the DAS are simply catching up on the changes of the last five years they were blissfully unaware of.

Now things are more equal. The DAS folks still get extra perks and extra rides that the able bodied people paying the exact same prices get, but at least now it's more equal.

I'm glad the DAS is working so well, and that Disney is sticking with it. Funny how the world didn't end on October 9th, isn't it?

There are still some of us that prefer not to plan out every minute of our WDW trips. And, prefer to enjoy the parks at a more relaxed pace. We are after all on vacation. At least some of us are anyway. And those of us that prefer our WDW trips at a more relaxed pace often get annoyed with the unbridled vigilance and determination of overly anxious parents as they literally drag their bewildered offspring throughout the parks, resorts and DTD, 24/7.

My brother has a moderately autistic child. Five years ago his child wasn't even toilet trained. I'm sure my brother and his wife were not thinking about trips to WDW with their child at the time.
