Actually, this would work for a good number of guests - perhaps just not those that need a 6-day or possibly 7-day pass. It certainly works for those that need longer. The reason I say this is that even with the blackout dates of the Deluxe, for the most part, it has at most one day on a given week that's blacked out. The thing to do is to get 5-day pass which has no blackouts, use it until the fifth day, then upgrade it to a Deluxe AP. This way, any blackout dates don't kick in until the 6th day, so you'll likely skip them.

Then the cast member said sorry and told me she would get a sup to help. She basically said no and offrd me a AP. Explained lived in another state. etc

I then went to Guest Relations by DCA side. A cast member ask to see my ticket aft I explained out of town wanted extra day and offrd to show hotel receipt staying 7 nights. He looked to be scanning ticket in computer. All the time a cast member next to him was telling him we can't do that. Almost a little suttle disagreement with them. Well he said just a moment let me get someone to help me upgrade. He left for a few minutes came back and apologized. I told him I know people recently got upgraded. He said the upgrade is on his computer but when he try and make selection it doesn't work. He said he can clearly see how to do it. He actually looked disappointed he could NOT help me and really made a attempt.

He said they were able to before but now they can't.

I thank him for really trying.

I must say with the extra day no ticket for the 1st time in my many trips it was GREAT. I slept in til 10am, rested my feet and went to DTD shopped walked around and ate. It was one of the best days and made the next 2 days great.

This is now a plan going forward in my DL trips.... 3 days on rest day and 2 days. :)

I think writing the name on the ticket's a super idea. If they would just work with us, I would gladly show my i.d. each and every time and have it ready to go.

This cast member ask me (older gent) for my ID..... I could have knocked him out :) How about checking all the time and give the 6 - 7 - 8 day hoppers.

While waiting in line I did see a lady with a 8 day hopper. She was from Canada and recently purchased it from her travel agent. FYI ~
