A simple "M'am the cones are there for the safety of our guests and cast. Please do not cut through them next time." would've done. The message would've been clear and I would have apologized and went on my merry way. Instead he resorted to literally running after her, screaming at her, making rude and over the top arm gestures and simply losing his cool. I find it very hard to believe Disney would condone behavior like this from any cast member, and being a cast member and frequent park goer I certainly do not.

I was only commenting on the CM's behaviour. Heck, I am probably one of the few who actually adhire to the 14 mile or under speed limit. Trust me, I would not endanger anyone. There were no pedestrians around. I am not condoning what I did, and I've already stated a hundred times I know it was not right, I only meant to voice my shock over the CM's behaviour. I was given way, way more than a stern talking to. He treated me very disrespectful. I'm sure name calling is not praised in Disney's handbook.

Originally Posted By SleepingBeauty82 <<<No need to break the rules and have folks pissed off at you.>>> True. And I think Haunts has already fessed up to breaking the rules. The bottom line is: even if a CM is "pissed off", they should be keeping their cool and not getting an attitude with guests. I worked in Customer Service and as annoying as some of the customer got, I would never be allowed to get the snappy attitude with them that the CM got with Haunts.

However, you have made it abundantly clear that you knew that you weren't supposed to do that and you did anyway. Deflecting the issue to the CM just doesn't seem proper. The CM gets in trouble because you went against the rules and then trying to make it sound like the issue is his reaction to it. The situation would never have occurred had the violation not occurred. I can understand being embarrassed by being called on it and feeling that he should have been more "sensitive" about it, but jeez Louise, he was doing his job, you were doing something that required him to react. I'll be willing to bet that if had done it to someone else while you were being where you belonged, you would have been grinning. Getting him in trouble might make you feel better but it won't erase the fact that you caused the problem. First rule in customer service..."let it go".

The issue is seriously the way the reprimanding was delivered. You can't tell me that you would walk away saying "Oh I deserved to be yelled at and treated like that" had you been in her shoes. No one was around us so it definitely wasn't embarrassing. Had you been there I believe you would have an entirely different view on the situation. This CM was yelling, flailing, name calling and completely over reacting. He was very rude and his tone and volume were very unecessary.

Getting others in trouble because of your actions may be satisfying but it is wrong. I know if I were in his place I would sooner be in trouble for reacting to a dangerous situation then being complacent and having someone get hurt. We would all like the world to be sugar coated and that every time we did something wrong nothing but sing song, Sesame Street reactions would be the result. However, the world and the people in it are far more complicated then that.

There are many LPers that know me personally and can testify that. <<CM's are humans first and CM's second and no amount of Disney policy changes that>> So we're to be "complacent" and treated like dogs by every cast member that is disrespectful and rude? I'd sure hate to work for that Disneyland.
