After the judges chew her up and spit her out we watch her break down and wail - for MINUTES on end! Enough already. I'm toying with making another new years resolution - don't get caught up in this ridiculous program again this year. In the early stages, it's on for three hours a week, and I'm not sure that I want to give up that much of my time. The first two seasons I ignored it completely, but the whole phenomenon grew so huge that I got caught up. And it can be addictive - once you start you want to follow it all the way through. Or maybe I'll just give it up for lent.

I will watch the show tonight since I live near Seattle but I am not sure I'll watch it much after that.

But, I can understand why people watch it. I sat down and watched the first girl...it was sad/pathetic. To see the horror in her eyes. I mean, by the look on her face, she was under the assumption that she was headed to Stardom. Just embarassing to watch.

I do enjoy occasionally watching some of the competition once the contestants have been selected, but that selection process is very off-putting to me.

I feel really bad for the kids who feel really good after making all the cuts and being selected to go before the judges, then they get laughed out of the room. I feel for the good singers who don't get through to this stage because all the freaks who want five minutes on tv are getting the air time. It bothers me and I think the show would have more integrity without this side show.

After watching the last two American Idol shows, she does seem to move around a lot. She's constantly spinning her chair and fidgeting.
