Maybe I'm just nondescript . . .<<< Well, it's not a continuous thing. I tend to spend a lot of time, like Dave in the new DVD, relaxing on a bench, chatting with people. When we get to the point where we talk about the different things we do while there, it inevitably comes up that I am there by myself. One time I was talking with this young couple with a cute 4 year old little girl. They asked what I do when I am there. I told them that I do the same things they do, go to the shows, ride the rides and so on. In fact my shirt was still wet from Splash Mountain. They looked at me with a quiet admiration that only the young can muster and said, "Isn't that nice that you still go on the rides...good for you". The little girl was quietly watching and then asked me if I had any "grandchildren". Talk about being taken down a notch. Here I thought I was still young. What a fool I was! ;-) If I decide to ride Pooh or Peter Pan or one of the other "younger set" rides. Then I get some odd looks, not only from other riders but the CM's that ask "how many in your party?" They will do a double take when I say, Oh just me. I'm not saying that anyone cares or thinks less of me, just that it comes as a surprise when they realize that people do go on their own. Especially us "old" people.

For you see, I have been enjoying this fine establishment for over 40 years now and though I am indeed alone this beautiful day, I shall ride! I shall ride high and low. I shall ride fast and slow, but make no mistake kind Cast Member... I WILL RIDE!" Then top it off with loud squeals of joy each time the vehicle is set into motion... "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

We got in line and the hostess made the rounds to gather numbers. We told her "two" and less than five minutes later - and ahead of EVERYONE else in line, she took us to a nice, intimate table... Now be aware my mom "gets" Disney magic - she's the one that started me on it - however - the shear thought of crowds that size sends her into tremors! She loves the movies, books, music, etc. but would rather eat dirt that go to one of the parks. I also have a problem with the folks that seem to think I'm mentally unstable or completely feebleminded because I enjoy Disneyland as much as I do - especially when they find out I don't have kids (well at least not yet) & I'm going to the parks either with a group of friends or in some cases - meeting up with total strangers! I mean I don't berate these people, as Ursula mentioned, for having bad hair or shoes, or for liking a certain baseball team, so don't berate me for my tastes!
