Originally Posted By berol "But a ride from the PeopleMover loading station to Autopia would be about 6 times longer" I'm riding the other direction in #40, pretend-Autopia station to the defunct PM station.

If a new station were to be added (or, as I have proposed before, if the old station were to be chopped out, and a new PM were to go from Buzz right across to Star Tours without the into-Tomorrowland detour), I think the best location would be in the old Motor Boat area. A bit of track extension so that it's easily accesible from the Small World Mall wouldn't be too hard. That as the sole load/unload would work fine for me, but that as a secondary station would work very well, too, because then you really could use the PM as USEFUL transportation.
Originally Posted By berol "either way, you are boarding a ride which heads in the wrong direction to get you somewhere just spitting distance away" Before, it's a transportation system that takes you to... where you started. This makes it more like DLRR on a smaller scale. But I said nevermind on the idea in post #40. *nudge* btw, it takes me about 5(?) mintues to walk from DLRR to the PM station. When my feet are dead, that's like saving 20 miles of walking.

Of course, they'd have to make a LOT of these sets of films, but let's say they projected them on the walls of the 'show buildings' - they'd only have to be 20-45 seconds long or so. So presumably they could make a lot of them. They could be themed to science or to "challenges of the future" or some such. In the Star Tours building, you get your first clue. A second (short) clue over Star Traders. You get your third clue in Space Mountain. In Innoventions (what was once superspeed tunnel) it's longer, so you get your fourth clue, and a little summary. Then, after innoventions you get the long sub/autopia area to think about it. Or, if you're not into this sort of thing, to just relax and observe the scenery as usual. In the Buzz building, the solution is revealed. They would have to have enough of these to be able to change them every day for about a month, maybe. So 30 sets of these short films. Perhaps in the Buzz tunnel, you have a multiple choice pad (like in the old Horizons), and your car votes on what you think the correct solution is, before it's revealed. Yes, you'd miss the "previews" of other attractions you used to get, but most DL visitors have seen them countless times anyway. Just a possible way to give this ride a "story," make it interactive, and make it somewhat different from the old PM. It's either completely unworkable or complete sooooper-genius. You decide.

Who know how much character those jaunty little roofs on the DL version added?
