    >>My husband and I picked up on the Haunted Mansion music, but that was the only Easter Egg we found.<<

When they first got to the house, the dead rat that they see on the floor is Remy from Ratatouille, and he also reappears (in a distorted form) during the nightmare with the HM music. Even though it was a really quick shot, it was kind of upsetting to see the protagonist dead like that

LP also did an article with more easter eggs. Considering all the tiny memory bubbles, I'm sure there are a ton of things hidden that we'll never know about

    >>Did anyone without kids cry?<<

It seemed like everybody in the theater was fighting back tears toward the end. There was a young lady behind me who was beginning to blubber, though it wasn't at the moment where I was most verklempt. It was in an area with a lot of people who have transplanted from all over the country, so I think the "living in a new city" storyline hit close to home even if the majority of the audience was childless

    And you all know what?

    I'm crying!! :'(

    You all wanna know why???

This is the reaction the 'Tomorrowland' film needed. :""" (Critics reviews, word of mouth, box office, etc).

The Tomorrowland movie needed Pete Docter!

IS THERE A DOCTeR IN THE HOUSE WHO COULD HAVE SAVED TOMORROWLAND????

    BAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :'''(

    okay .. that aside:

Lava? Wonderful original short. Just excellent. My only gripe ... It was in a wider screen 2.40:1 to Inside Out's 1.85:1 ... so the screen was "reversed" letterbox .. instead of the screen opened more to both sides!

Inside Out ... I can't praise it enough. There were some complex themes that would go over children's heads. I saw it more an "adult" movie .. more than for kids. Kids will gravitate to some of the colorful imagery .... but some things .. more sophisticated for the 'older' set.

I think one of my favorite moments was the 4 stage decomposing of the characters going through "Danger" area.

May the Disney Park Rumors and Speculation begin! Did no one else pick up on the similar story line to Cranium Command? Since Disney is so IP Obsessed ... I see a way the Wonders of Life pavilion could be given new life.

Watching the credits I saw something for "Grim Grinning Ghosts" .. and I don't remember that playing in any part of the movie. Most of the music was sort of nondescript. And that piece of Haunted Mansion music must have played out for only a few seconds.

So ... I'm happy Disney/Pixar has a hit on their hands.

And yes, my eyes got a little watery when Riley rejoined her parents after trying to run away.

HEY .. this is someone who has no problem with the concept of Sentiment. In Yoda talk ... original Tiki Room, Small World, Etc. - things gentle, warm, and enduring, grasp ... I can.

It was pretty much the first 8 organ notes you hear in the first room (before the stretch room), not the full song you hear later.

I thought it was excellent and my eyes definitely got a little misty. I always appreciate it more when a character gets to stay "dead". There's no reset button in real life.

The themes are complex and some will go over the heads of the younger kids, but my group aged 8+ seemed fine. Interestingly enough they nearly all had a different favorite character, but I don't think Joy was amongst them. Of the 5 emotions I think she was actually the least interesting.

It was nice to see Frank Oz and Dave Goelz get cameos too!!!

When the family first arrives at their new San Francisco home, when they look up at the house the organ music from mansion plays for a moment.

    >>Most of the music was sort of nondescript.<<

Really? I thought the music was terrific. It sounded like the kind of music that would have been piped in to a ride on the PeopleMover or through one of the futuristic exhibits of Tomorrowland '67. All of which is perfect for the inner space of this movie. Just loved the Inside Out score.

And I'm probably the only person on the planet who didn't care for Bing Bong.

I guess as main characters, a group of emotions who are really only part of a character didn't really grab me.

It certainly was very sentimental, though what else would you expect from a film about EMOTIONS.

    As for Lava...I lava it!

I didn't really care for him either. He didn't make me laugh at all. (I didn't see the last 20 or so minutes of the film though.)

Wow - tough crowd. I loved Bing Bong as the tritagonist - it worked a treat. He was the glue that held the Joy/Sadness story together. Richard Kind is a great comic actor - I loved his take on Molt for A Bug's Life (he was also excellent in Spin City).

I really couldn't fault Inside Out one iota. It was pretty much perfect for me. YMMV I guess.

I guess people had less creative imaginary friends when they were younger. :)

I just don't like his design. Elephant's trunk, tiny hat that makes him look like a pinhead, and really ugly lips just don't do it for me. If only he could've looked cool, like a small purple dragon with the horns of a steer, or something.

I think Bing Bong is a great name for an imaginary creature, though. And I liked his climax, if I can call it that.

Yes. If you see his whole story and don't love him regardless of his design, you are a monster!!

OK, maybe not a monster, but his story moved me.

Pete has an incredible ability to take very adult emotions and position them as family stories. Bing Bong's selfless suicidal sacrifice to save Joy and in turn save Riley isn't something you often see in animated movies.

I wish we didn't have to wait 5-6 years for each Pete Docter movie. He is the finest talent at Pixar bar none. He is the only one from the Brain Trust that picked up the storytelling mantle after Joe Ranft's untimely death.

Is Pete already working on a new Pixar project?
