He acted in a careless operation of a fire arm , he almost struck others who entered his range of fire. Even though he probally will just get retraining in the proper use of a taser,it will be a valuable lesson learned... If he killed the boy with the taser , he would be in big trouble... In Canada we have the same trouble with tasers , only difference is , the people that are tasered , most have died...and most of the tasering was uncalled for , so sad, all those lives lost for nothing, some were innocent people who were thought to be some one else or thought to be violent but they were not..they have their uses , so be careful when you advocate their use for things like these, if your son or daughter was that kid on the field and died because of a taser shot, how would you feel then , it could happen.

It is time to take personal responsibility for your actions. You know why I've never been tasered? I've never done something that stupid.

Originally Posted By Mr X ***A misdemeanor is stealing a candy bar from the gas station*** Says you. I find it interesting that you are so much more forgiving of theft. Seems as though in Pennsylvania the situation you describe COULD be a felony, actually.

And if you want to avoid being yet another whiny so and so who complains and WE after making posts like this, stay away.

As wahooskipper says, accept responsibility. Not mentioned until now besides Seles literally being stabbed in the back is an incident in Chicago in 2002, when some human piece of excretement and his 14 YEAR OLD SON jumped the field at Comiskey Park and beat first base coach Tom Gamboa until they were pulled off by security. These pukes also had a knife. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/a...ue1.html and here's another informative article on it: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.c...esox_ap/ So spare me the crap about excessive use of a taser. Had this cretin in Philly done harm to someone, we'd be forced to listen about how the fat out of shape cops couldn't do anything to stop the guy. And X, from far away in exile, until you've actually been in a situation like this on either side of the equation, stick with what you know, Go bang your head on a drum or something.
Originally Posted By Mr X ***So spare me the crap about excessive use of a taser*** I said absolutely NOTHING about use of a taser. All I commented on was your outrageous comment. And yeah, I'm quite aware that you don't care. ***And X, from far away in exile, until you've actually been in a situation like this on either side of the equation, stick with what you know*** Thank you, but no. I won't do that.

And, let's not forget, outside of the moment of shock and a couple of minutes of recovery time that kid got up and left the field on his feet (albeit escorted by the arms). He is perfectly fine. No bullet holes, he wasn't beat with a billy club. The stun gun did exactly what it was designed to do.

I mean, I sure as hell ain't volunteering to try it out. Would YOU, wahoo?

I'm not big on sourcing Wikipedia but it references a study that out of 1,000 people hit with a taser, 99.7% of the people had minor injuries such as scrapes or burns...or no injury at all. 3 people had to go to the hospital. 2 people died. Had those same thousand people been shot with a gun instead of stunned with a taser I suspect those numbers would have been quite a bit different. I avoid the taser by not jumping on the field just as I avoid being slapped by dodging the "do I look fat in these jeans" question.
