    Your statement says it all.

You know something a relative, and non-Disney nut, said to me when seeing some of this? ''Even their concept art looks cheap nowadays.'

    I agree.

And I guess my 101 Kungaloosh Drinking Dalmatians just got beaten to the punchline!

Perhaps that is the goal. Drive business down enough to close DTD and create new hard ticket after hours events for the parks. Profit margin is higher.

I've never eaten at any of the sit-downs at DtD. I've only eaten at Earl of Sandwich (which I love - the sandwiches are yum and the price is reasonable) and Ghirardelli's (those sundaes make a nice meal - no joke). Oh, and I've eaten at Puck Express a few times a few years back, and I enjoyed it then.

Usually, if I want a sit-down meal, I'll either be at the parks or one of the hotels.

Be careful in Japan. They throw seafood into places you'd never expect to see it, and to some servers "no seafood please" means "make sure the seafood is not visible to the customer". ;)

I resent that....being called a woman, granted my age infers that, but inside, I'm still only 25 and consider my self to be a girl. One of my daughters tried tofu, she strongly didn't like it, I'll take her word.

The funny thing is if they would have just kept AC and CW none of this negative vitriol being tossed at the company would probably not be happening.

I belive we will see some backtracking on the AC. They know it is a very popular place, and since the new one won't be opening soon/ever, they may reconsider. As far as the CW, just rent the location to Funny Bones and be done with it.

I promise, I will introduce you to some clubs and fun places to hang that will put P.I. to shame! All within minutes of Tokyo Disneyland (probably quicker overall than that befuddled bus system WDW has!). ;)

You might get sick of hanging out with me though, because I'd probably eat sushi for every meal of the day ;-).

Some people don't like tofu because it can really be tasteless. But so can beef or chicken or fish.

It all depends on what you season it with, how it's prepared and what it is served with.

My tacos tasted the same as those with ground beef, just better.

YMMV ... but some folks just don't like tofu because they're meateaters and consider it foo-foo ... I love a great steak or burger, but I don't have to eat meat every day ... tofu can really be delicious.

If PI had a tofu taco stand, then it wouldn't be closing now ;-)

The thing is, in order to redevelop the property they likely couldn't do so without considerable expense and one that would not be justified financially.

And while AC and CW were the best part of PI the past decade, I just think it's better to get rid of everything. It would be like closing the MK, but leaving Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion open.

PI is dead. It's sad. It didn't have to be. But it is ... time to move along and stop looking at the corpse.

which is true, but also how the WDW 'leadership team' does business.

<<which tells me they are closing them before the fall crowds don't show up. But I think they jumped the gun on killing the AC. We know the plan was to close it and move it to the new DNK.>>

Well ... no we don't. Jim Hill said it. But I know a bit about how he obtained his information and I think he extrapolated a bit on this. With AC being Joe Rohde's baby -- as well as the gestating boutique park -- it might appear to make sense that you'd move it.

But I haven't found one person at Disney (including WDI) who will tell me this was ever planned.

<<Well the buzz on DNK was really a buzzkill. And they had already commited to moving to someplace that now won't be happening. I belive we will see some backtracking on the AC. There will be as much backtracking as there was on Toad getting closed or Horizons or the subs on both coasts or the Bear Band Jamboree in Anaheim etc ... or even on bigger items like when they decided to treat their gay employees like every other entertainment company and the Baptists didn't like it ... in other words, they don't care and nothing will change their minds.

The decision was made and all the whining on the Internet and even a few stories in the mainstream media won't change a thing.

But hey ain't it great that Idol is coming to The Park Formerly Known as The Disney-MGM Studios?
