The whole grabbing your lanyard thing, or staring at your chest, which is really rude.. regardless who you are, but can be especially rude to other females.. who *do* have maybe a couple inches of personal space that impolite folks may not be aware.. staring at a person's chest is NEVER ok... grabbing, touching pulling the lanyard is very rude.. what if someone came up to you at work and grabbed your tie and said "HEY what IS THAT?" why would you do that to someone else while on vacation.. and why would you do that to a CM? just impolite.. It's sad that disney pin trading felt they needed to come up with a pamphlet for pin trading etiquette, but obviously they need to keep printing them because people need to adher to the rules. (I didn't even get into the people that try to 'shark' you or go around the kids lanyard rule or whatever..) I really like the idea of the trading board or the trading book that they have at the resort carts at WDW.. I still interact with the CMs (even moreso because I don't have to ask to involve myself in lanyards). Just use polite conversation and always end in thank you. me personally I don't even like staring at the super traders vest.. I'm weird. =)

We were standing in line to pay for some pins, she had just got her first lanyard through AAA, and this lady behind us was really sweet showing her lanyard to my daughter. My daughter pointed to Goofy, one of her favorite characters, and said how cute she thought it was. Her remark was completely innocent. The lady removed the pin and gave it to my daughter to "get her started" with her collecting. She expected nothing in return. Its the little moments like this that always remind us how special Disney is and the people like this woman who spread a little magic by their kindness!
