I enjoyed the soundtrack for the 3rd one, I think Hans Zimmer is a genious (I also have the Gladiator soundtrack on my iPod. They are both my 'studying' music).

I feel that watching it the first time through, there was SO much to take in, that I only had the chance to walk away from it focusing on the bad and not really taking in all the good. Now that I have seen it twice I think I can draw the conclusion that I LIKE it, but I don't love it, like I did with the first and second. I get so distraught over Will's 'death' that I can't really enjoy the ending (although it is cute and clever). I was able to laugh at the jokes that I caught the second time around, and it was easier for me to really listen to what was being said throughout the movie. I hope that if a 4th is done, that it is done in good tastes, although I can't say how much I will enjoy it now that most of the characters I've come to grow with and love (good or bad) are gone.

The movie was waaaay too long and convoluted for it's own good. There was simply TOO much going on. I LIKE complicated stories, I LIKE long movies, but an unnecessarily complicated and long movie is a different matter. I paid attention and I got the entire thing, follow one ridiculous plot after another, was able to keep up just fine. But honestly, most of that WASN'T neccessary. All the double betrayals and back stabbings just started to feel ridiculous!!! Yes, I agree, it's a pirate movie, you expect betrayels and backstabbings and the other movies certainly did it, but it was overkill!! Two or three characters doing it fine, but you had SEVEN characters doing it one after another, it just because tedious. I stopped caring after awhile. I just don't understand how these films went so far off track? A pirate movie 'franchise' that started off innocently enough dealing with cursed treasure and dead pirates walking the earth shouldn't get to the point where we are watching multiple Jacks in the afterlife, cursed sea pirates working for the Brits, some silly story about Will having to serve on some ghost ship for a decade and the biggest joke of all, having Elizabeth named the King of the pirate's lair???? The movie jumps from one set piece to another, adding more characters with an agenda and very little of it paying off. What's was the point with Calipso and how she was going to 'make them pay'? Turned into a bunch of crabs and last we heard of her. She created a Malstorm so the producers had an excuse to create a cool battle scene, but nothing more. Barbosa mumbled something about being 'needed' back in the real life, but why? Why have Chow Yun Fat character there as some menacing character just to kill him off 20 minutes in the picture. You set up this character as 'important' and he dies before the story even kicks in? Also, kind of off topic a little, but why get someone like Chow Yun Fat who is KNOWN for action and fighting but don't use him for it?? If you are going to use him for his skills, THIS is the movie to do it in. It's like hiring Eddie Murphy in a comedy, but he's the straight man in it--okay, Chow Yun Fat rant over lol. BUT, with all that said, sure, there were SOME positives. The sets and special effects were AMAZING!!! I been to Singapore, but none of it looks like that anymore lol. I like the costumes, all the details, that's all a given. When you make a $300 million movie, then you kind of expect that stuff to be up to par . And yes, the FINAL scenes in the movie, the action stuff was good, but once again, waaay too long!!! But, I was definitely up by then ;D. Of course, they killed it by having the corniest 'wedding' in movie history. Yes, it was funny, but soo silly. While they are doing their cringe worthy kiss, I guess every bad guy decided to let them have their moment and not stab any of them. Everyone's a romantic at heart . And yeah, it was really odd how the general just gave up when there were what, 50 SHIPS???? He just couldn't believe his plan somehow failed?? Were you watching the movie homie?? Everyone was backstabbing everyone for two hours (including you!!) and now THIS catches you off guard? And I will admit one thing, the one scene that 'grabbed me' was something I haven't seen people talk about, but was when Will was stabbed by Davy Jones and Jack just looked so stunned. It was the FIRST time where you saw real sincerity of his character IMO. Yeah, it's typical Hollywood I know, we ALL know it will be a happy ending (eventually ) and everyone will love everyone in the end, but it was just nice to see. I like it showed Jack in the end REALLY cared about Will and wasn't just out for his advantage or felt he 'owed' him like before. He looked really heartbroken. It was a great scene and one that made this movie suck just a little less . All in all, with the exception of the last 40 minutes, most of the movie felt tedious and tiresome. I swear, if you went out of the theater for 5 minutes just to go to the bathroom, chances are you were completly lost by the time you got back. A pirate movie SHOULDN'T be that complicated where you can't go to the bathroom . Also, it shouldn't be 3 hours either. I still can't believe they created two VERY overstuff, unnecessarily long sequels that started off with a 14 minute theme park ride lol. I know I'm in the minority here with my opinion (on movie message boards though, just the opposite lol) but there it is. God, I pray there's NOT another one, but I have a feeling Jack $parrow will be returning. 'Thar be gold in the box office, arrrr'. First one was GOOD!! Second one TOO long and overstuffed, but entertaining, this one just TOO convoluted for its own good and dull. They should've stopped at one!

I found the score very odd at times (though it SOUNDED great - kudos to Todd AO!), as it was completely anachronistic.

It started with what barbossa was saying before they went over the waterfall when he grabs elizabeths face and says 'you may not survive to pass this way again' (ride dialoge), then they go over the waterfall (ride scene) then you hear the dead men tell no tales echo. I dunno I just thought it was neat tribute to the ride which we didnt get to see much of in this film.
