The El Capitan is a great experience, and the reserved seat is really nice - the cinema I mentioned earlier has reserved seating too, and it's so great for popular movies.

Everytime I watch a movie in America now, it sucks to know that I have to wait just to get a decent seat.>> I'm not Dug, I'm JB...but when we are driving up to Hollywood from OC, we never know what the traffic will bring so it is especially worth it to me to know that I won't have to fight for a seat or be split apart from my family or (my least favorite) end up in the first row. We paid close to $100 per person to see "Wicked" on stage recently and while I know there are reasons for the high cost of live theater, this doesn't feel that different to me when it is a special movie.

Anyway, I saw the movie again tonight and really did enjoy it more the second time (not that I didn't enjoy it the first time!) Regarding the comment about 4 of them trying to kill him, I wonder if he meant Barbossa, Will, Ragetti and Pintel (unsure of the last two names)? 4 of you have TRIED to kill me and one of you (Elizabeth) succeeded. I first took it to mean Will, Barbossa, Elizabeth and one other person, but actually he couldn't really say she "tried" to kill him and then say she succeeded.

We parked at the Hollywood & Highland and brought a book to read and were like #10 in the General Admit line.. wasn't that big of a deal to wait as we had something to keep us busy (a couple books) and the CMs were super nice offering suggestions where to get some coffee and the like to anyone that asked. There weren't that many families in the line at that hour but there always seems to be at least one. In our case there was a couple with 2 little ones.. a baby and maybe a 4yr old. SeanYoda took some pix of the display windows on the outside of the theatre as well went by Starbuck$ to pick up some coffee and a couple creampuffs from Beard Papas (omigosh I love the cream puffs from Beard Papas!) Disney is really getting their money's worth though with the Reserve seating. Part of the issue we had getting tickets is that we didn't necessarily want any popcorn and so to pay an extra $10 for a mini popcorn bucket and soda seemed off.. Although when Sean looked for seats orginally, when he found a couple seats in the upper balcony that were available they were already taken by the time he tried to reserve them.. so the GA section was fine! We still got to sit where we wanted and the movie was fantastic! I liked the 3rd film, keeping in mind that it's a great "popcorn flick" and it really delivers for the most part. I was happy with the endings myself and don't mind losing Norrington, or any of the other officers. I think that Elizabeth's father was a plot turner so he had to go eventually. I think his death fueled Elizabeth's desire to see some pirate justice. I knew the movie was going to be long but hadn't realized just how long.. we stayed through the credits and got the pay-off. -I love that those 2brit officer characters got to join the pirate crew.. at one point I thought I saw one of them get stabbed but I guess it was my imagination. They're some good comic relief! (sorry I don't know what their characters names are). -I loved that the dog came back although not sure if it was explained how he got away from being the cannibal king in the 2nd film. -the Florida map was wrong.. St Augustine isn't in the Everglades.. It's the NE coastline of Florida, SE of Jacksonville & North of Daytona Beach. Then again, maps 'back in the day' weren't really too accurate I guess. wouldn't mind seeing the film again as I didn't really notice the braces so much at the beginning but that wouldn't be the only reason to see it again.. it was a FUN movie!

If I was in LA I'd definitely go to the El Capitan, I'm happy to treat myself for movies I've been waiting a while for! >>I didn't really notice the braces so much at the beginning<< I was so mad at myself, I went for the second time having read about the braces here and completely forgot to look. I remembered about halfway through the movie and was really annoyed! Am I just unobservant?

The first time I saw it I didn't notice the guy get stabbed, but then they both joined the crew. So the second time I saw it, when I saw the guy get stabbed, I was thinking, "What the heck! I thought he joined the crew at the end." I wonder if that was a mistake, or two different people.
