Oh yes...I feel your pain here. I am am expecting the Steve Guttenberg AA to pop in TOT to tell us not to board the elevator!!! *shudders*

    >>I would argue the other direction, in fact - that attractions without a Disney tie in are too generic for my taste. If I want a boring park without coherent theming, I can go down the street to Great America.<<

I agree with youon this 2/3... I personally am not a fan of Paradise Pier, but then again...see how much improved PP is at TDS's Mermaid Lagoon..then it gives me hope.

    >>The small world children were based on the Christmas characters in the 3 Caballeros. <<

I did not know that, thank you. Same can be said about the Matterhorn and possibly it's offspring Everest... That came from that movie with Kurt Russell, or Adventureland's creation based on True-Life Adventures...

From what I heard in an earlier report (which may or may not have been rumor filled), Jack is supposed to appear three times. As I recall, he'll be in the dunking the mayor scene, ducked down behind the well, kinda hiding. Then he'll be in the jail scene, over on the left. Sorry, can't remember the third appearance. And I believe Barbossa will take over the ship as it storms the fort, and the ship will be redressed as the Black Pearl.

I can also use this informaiton in my plan to talk my mom into a return visit to WDW at the end of this summer...
