I have a special fondness for the area because a personal friend of mine for several yrs. now did the conceptual models for it and one of them is in the photo link that is in a post in this thread. He was most recently working on the Fantasmic stuff for the re-opening on November 7. I'm really looking forward to having Fantasmic back.

The queue is much nicer than in Princess Fantasy Faire. My biggest complaint is there is not enough shade in line (it was a very hot week). We happened to really like Tinker Bell's friends more than Tink (sorry Tink and her fans). We've been reading the fairy series books. The fairies really knew their stuff. They are friendly and playful. Having two together makes for great interaction. At night there are lights along the path. I noticed a bunch of people walking up the path to check it out without the fairies, or the long lines. Note for the princess fans ... the princess queue is MUCH shorter now! Take advantage of it. We made it through the fantasy faire line about 5 times in just over 2 hours.

Keep the hands off the fairies and you'll be fine.

I assume they just realized that it's easier to keep it there and work around it than it would be to take it out and replant the entire area, as it covers most of the central area where there are currently plants. It looks like part of the foundation might even be under the flat area where you used to wait for Ariel and now meet the faries. http://darkbeer.smugmug.com/ga...Qyb-A-LB

They live together in the Home Tree in Pixie Hollow. There are some male fairies. They are referred to as Sparrow Men. They also have a talent. Fairies are created when a baby laughs for the first time. This is why you hear giggles when you are about to enter the photo area at DisneyLand. I like the series of books. The fairies all work together without any cattiness or backstabbing (except from Vidia, who was not invited to hang out at DisneyLand). There is a multi-cultural aspect sorely missing from much of Disney. Also the women all stand up for themselves and do not really need the Sparrow Men for anything. They are independent young women not wasting time pining away for their prince to come and save them from their drudgery. Silvermist ... a water talent fairy. She wears blue. Fawn ... an animal talent fairy (she can translate animal language for the other fairies). She wears brown, sort of like a chipmunk color. Rosetta ... a flower talent fairy. She wears a rose colored outfit. Iridessa ... a light talent fairy. She wears yellow, like the sun. Tinker Bell ... a tinker fairy, as in she can fix and make anything. She wears green (yes, I know you all recognize Tink). The light talent fairies work with the water talent fairies to create rainbows. No one talent is more important than any others. Hope that helps.

I really hope that they are able to maintain the character of Tink (hot-tempered and sassy), instead of watering her down as they've been doing recently. She was a very bold character in PP, and I don't want to lose any of that.

Long way of saying, she is just a newborn fairy and hasn't had time to become the "hot-tempered and sassy" fairy we all grew up knowing, and is just a watered down version. The Disney created books are much better than the movie that just came out. The way Pixie Hollow is set up now, Peter Pan cannot swing through because it takes place prior to his ever meeting Tink. Too bad since it could be neat to see Captain Hook, Wendy and Peter Pan interact with the fairies. I hope Disney reconsiders what they've done with Pixie Hollow and realizes most people knew about Tink long before this DVD was released. The novelty of meeting Tink will wear off soon if she isn't allowed to be the Tink we all expect.

If we want that experience we can head on over to hooters.
