With time in our schedule to get FastPasses for everything else in DCA. I really hope this plan works, since I can't wait to go on the flying tires!!!

It's been a while since we were there, but I know the first time it was part of the World's Fair set-up (we went year 2 - yeah, I'm that old!) and last time it was still in operation.

Are the dance foot prints still on the sidewalk - think that was near Ivar's?

I hope to go to Carsland on one of my furlough days next year. That way I don't have to fight the crowds - I'm a teacher, so when I'm off it's prime family vacation time, but I can't justify taking time off from school when I have so many days off already. At least being furloughed is good for something!

I am looking forward to the tires, too, remembering the old flying saucers at DL (yeah, I'm THAT old, too!). But I can't imaging how a ride like that could handle crowds like today's.

In fact, I think I'd do THAT ride first, before RSR. Maybe at most get fastpasses for RSR, then do the tires. But I think I'd probably go straight for the tires, then get fastpasses for RSR, which shouldn't run out THAT early.

Unless they turn out to not be a lot of fun, I think at least for a while that the tires are going to be the "Peter Pan of DCA," i.e. gotta do it first if you don't want a long wait, since the capacity is so low.

I think I'd head straight for the tires and try to get on and off within the first 15 minutes of opening. Then since RSR can probably absorb quite a few people, that line probably wouldn't be too horrendous still, so I'd grab a fastpass, and ride RSR anyway so I'd have the fastpass for a later ride.

Then ride Mater. Then wander around and soak in the cool Route 66 atmosphere, look in the shops, maybe grab something at whatever eatery is open that early (Flo's?). Then ride RSR again, perhaps grabbing another fastpass for what at that point would probably be a window several hours later, then wander back to BVS to soak in THAT atmosphere.

I just read the Al Lutz column dated April 3rd
Final Laps. It details a lot of information about all the plans including info about extended early morning hours for Hotel Resort Guests and possibly for Annual Passholders. It also mentions Disney has approximately 960,000 pass holders with a record amount at the Premium level. So we will just have to wait and see about making our strategy to conquer the new land.
