I can respect the opinion of individuals who do enjoy Test Track, Mission Space, Poo's Playful Spot and Soarin. WDW is a magical place. There is something in the world for everyone to enjoy. Lets not make enemys out of friends because they don't share the vision we have. EPCOT is all about different visions. Lets all share a dream come true.

Guess I'll have to go be crabby in WE. ;-)

Put the AAs in an actual attraction and then we'll talk. "Tell that to the legions of adults (many of them LP-ers) who love Turtle Talk." I enjoy it too. But it is designed for children. And most adults who visit WDW aren't in the Disney geek crowd you'd find on a Disney Internet site. Many LPer also enjoy character meals and pintrading too!

Please. Lee, let's not get nasty here. The films in Soarin at Epcot have huge dustballs on them because Disney was too cheap to pay for the technology to keep them clean. If you don't think it affects show quality, you're just plain wrong.

How many years did it go without a major addition? At a park that was supposed to be cutting-edge and about the future. It took a marketing celebration for the Millennium to get folks back into the park. "And the notion that Tom or Don don't like AAs is ridiculous. Funny how the three most technologically advanced AAs in history have been developed under their watch." And how many AAs have been taken away on their watch? Hundreds?

That is precisely the problem with those original pavilions. They were too grounded in history. You also make it sound like no money has been spent on Epcot at all. Every single pavilion has been overhauled bar WoL in the past ten years. Every last one. You might not enjoy the replacements but they are there.

Do you think an E-Ticket attraction that is barely a year old should have huge dustbunnies that distract you from the film? A serious question. I don't. So next time you are hanging with Brad, perhaps you'd mention something? I know you only want what's best for Disney, after all. "Again go back and check your facts. Those AA-laden attractions were not closed under Tom Fitzgerald. I had thought you were better informed than that. Try asking Peter Rummell that question." Those attractions have been disappearing for a decade. But you do seem to have a special attatchment, if that's the correct word, for Tom. And I was no fan of Rummell, and the whole Disney Development part of the company. But let's be serious here. It's easy to criticize execs who are no longer with a company you do business with/from. You rip Cynthia Harriss, for example, as much or more than many here. But when she ran TDA, I don't recall reading a word of negativity from you about the abysmal job she was doing. Perhaps, if you didn't appear to feel that every Disney exec is doing a dandy job, it would be easier for me to find a common ground with you because it's obvious we agree on far more than we disagree. There are a few execs in Orlando who need to be shown the door as they appear clueless as to what a Disney park is all about. <<Epcot lost its way when it got stale in the 90s because Disney/Eisner didn't want to invest in it.>> "Tell me what you would have expected then? That is precisely the problem with those original pavilions. They were too grounded in history." It's not my job to come up with attractions for Disney. That's what WDI is for. If they'd like to hire me, then I'll come up with some ideas. I don't think the problem is that attractions were replaced. The problem is I don't feel the inherent quality that Disney always had went into most of the replacements. "You also make it sound like no money has been spent on Epcot at all. Every single pavilion has been overhauled bar WoL in the past ten years. Every last one. You might not enjoy the replacements but they are there." Oh no, I know money has been spent. I just am not seeing today's FW as all that better than 1996's -- and since they did spend hundreds of millions, I again must question the decision-making at WDI and TDO. Leaving WoL out of the equation also isn't fair on your part because it was a multi-attraction pavillion that a guest could spend hours in. No replacement at all. And all that money that's been spent has all gone into FW. Nothing substantial has happened to WS since Norway was added in 1988. And, no, I don't consider the ugly convention hall an enhancement. I'm trying to understand where you're coming from. I wish you'd do the same with me.

The last few years it was a walk-on. But two new versions and tens of millions later, it's a smaller, less imaginative walk-on. I can tell you that often in 1980s and early 90s, they would have the full indoor queue utilized and an extra queue that stretched out the door and in front of the restrooms way to the right of the pavillion. When the closed it in 1998 that was never, except possibly on Christmas or NYE, the case. But again, my point is Disney wasted a whole lot of money to ruin what was a very Disney attraction. It is easilly the attraction at all WDW parks that I miss the most.

HISTA Soarin Turtle Talk with Crush Ellen's Energy Adventure Mission:SPACE Test Track If that is the case then I don't see how I can debate this any further with you. I also think you are seeing the past through rose-colored glasses with your comments about Imagination. It was hardly ever popular. Like all the FW pavilions once the flow of guests reached it (and you have to remember that guests traditionally did FW clockwise beginning at 6pm on the dial as it were) it had a spike but it was never that popular at all. The other Omnimovers were more popular. Symbosis was a snoozefest and Circle of Life added something that the whole family could appreciate. Same for the Living Seas movies and hopefully the new attraction in there will capture a larger audience. Adding Ellen to the Universe of Energy vastly improved it in my view. It was so humorless and dour before. <<Leaving WoL out of the equation also isn't fair on your part because it was a multi-attraction pavillion that a guest could spend hours in. Not sure if you had ventured over there in the past few years when it is open but the pavilion was always dead. A tremendous shame as Cranium Command and the Making of Me are exceptional shows.
