Animated 4x3, but with the specific intention that it would be projected 1.66:1. Give us both, Dis-ney, Give us both! Give us both, Dis-ney, Give us both! (Everybody!) Anyway, since 2009 is to be Sleeping Beauty's 50th anniversary, it would have been much better if she could have been awakened THEN instead of in 2008. ORDDU: Plus Snow White is past due for another release and I believe the same could be said for Beauty & the Beast.

That seems like it would have been a much better time to try yet another rerelease. <<<Plus Snow White is past due for another release and I believe the same could be said for Beauty & the Beast.>>> Another good point. My friend tried to buy his sister a copy of B&tB on DVD for Christmas last year and couldn't find anything cheaper than $50 online. I don't seem to recall people clammering for the Sleeping Beauty DVDs quite like they did Beauty and the Beast. Plus, I would think B&tB would be a much better choice to show off Blu-ray technology. The colors are more rich, the backgrounds are more dimensional, and can you imagine that ballroom scene in high def? Sleeping Beauty, as much as I love it, just doesn't seem like the best choice for the first Blu-ray release.

It has the sharpest picture of all the Disney classics.
