I know my friends and I stopped going there when we visited because we felt guilty drinking a beer and dancing to the stage concerts with 5 year olds next to us!

I don't have a strong opinion on the PI changes. But for the love of all that is decent and holy, you simply MUST stop talking this way, '74!!!

Sounds good on paper, but the majority of guests at WDW bring their little ones with them on vacation,(You don't have much of a choice when there yours) Leaving your 5 yr old in the room to go to PI is against the law ... LOL... But they do sell those chains that are rubber coated... so I guess you can chain them to the bed and order a pizza for them and split to PI.. wont that be fun...

Long for what days exactly... children were always allowed into PI except where the age requirement was 21... I guess the spirit needs to find a adult venue to enjoy his Bahama Mama.. WDW is a FAMILY resort if you haven't noticed... PI is the last place you go if you don't want to be around screaming kids..

Harley davidson's will be opening next to Mannequins' entrance and Sosa Cigars (yuk!) will be opening in the area below the deejay box where the candy store used to be.
If it was up to me, I would have bulldozed a few more areas of the complex.

The cigar craze has passed and now Disney opens a cigar shop...LOL.. By the way... had Disney removed the after 7pm cover charge for entrance, I thought I read that they were going to do away with that a while ago... Remember the Fireworks Factory , blink blink and It was gone... wasn't that one of Disney's first cracks at letting somone else come and run the place... WildHorse Saloon was another Bomb... Time to put in sand and slides for the kiddies...

The Sosa family has had a shop on the West side for *at least* 6 years now. It's hardly a new thing for them to have a smoke shop at DTD.

Any idea if they're keeping the other location, too, TDLFAN?

I know others may disagree, but I really do wish they hadn't done that. I've visited once since then and there were soooo many young kids in the area in front of the band, where I like to dance, and it seemed like a lot of their parents kept losing them and yelling at them and it was stressful. My even bigger issue was that it felt like people were just cutting through all night, walking between marketplace and westside. Very few were at PI to actually enjoy the clubs.

It made PI feel like just a passageway instead of its own destination and I didn't like it at all.

Spirit of '74 knows I kid, just as much as he does. As for TDLFAN, he's finally found someone who will stand up to his bull, and he doesn't like it. I hold no animosity toward him, and have enjoyed many fun conversations with him. But he's decided of late that he's the only one who can be rude to people, so sadly it seems that the fun conversations are a thing of the past.

Speaking of Sosa cigars, has anyone tried them? Are they all Sosa brand, or does the store carry other brands?

haven;t been in in a few years, but when I did they did have other brands also...I have tried them as I had a few rounds of golf booked, I remember asking for something comparable to a La Cohiba and it was excellent -- and well sneaking a cigar from the wife works on the golf course.....my bad I know...

    But I went from a 2 pack a day smoker 25 years ago ( when I quit cigarettes) - to about a 3 - 4 cigar a year guy....and only on the golf course..

and I agree -- Sosa's been there quite a while - they were there when Sammy Sosa was still at the top of his game..just remembering the name reference even though I don;t believe there is any connection
