It was SUCH a powerful sight. The ears meant, "I truly love this place. I'm so happy to be experiencing it, today especially. I'm so consumed with the thrill of being here that I'm not concerned that wearing ears might be considered silly. I'm so into this experience that I'm not going to put my precious very-limited-edition ultra-special ears in a protective bag today to save them for posterity. Nope -- I'm proud to be a part of this place's history, and I want to wear my ears to show my appreciation." Actually, I had that "moment," that sense of being overcome by these guests' show of love and fraternity and unselfconscious childlike enthusiasm several times that day. I'd get another glimpse of the golden sea, realize that so many people were still wearing them later in the day, and I'd choke back tears. Then I'd think about the people who had theirs stashed in a bag and I felt sad for them.

And not everyone chooses to wear the same fashions. That was my point. Did I criticize anyone else for wearing Mickey ears? Nope. Do I choose to wear them myself? Nope. End of story. And BTW, Inspector, I didn't keep my July 17th ears in a protective bag for posterity. I gave them to another LPer who is a single mom with two young children so each of her kids could have a pair. So there. ;-p~~~~~~~~~

It's highly doubtful that's what you meant, as every. single. guest. who entered the Park on the 17th was handed a pair. There would have been no loveable little moppet in Disneyland who had not been given her own pair. Perhaps you meant you made your donation after you left the Park. A very sweet thing for you to do, to be sure. Note, however, that this would have left you able to wear said ears for the duration of your time in the Park that day. C'mon. They don't call me Inspector for nothing. You're going to have to try harder than that.

As for your "inspector" skills. . . I think you'd better keep your day job.
