Using CAVE, projectors would produce a virtual reality environment by showing pictures on the walls. These images would flow along seamlessly with the ride vehicle to create the inside environment. Apparently, guests were also expected to wear special glasses or visors to help create the 3D effect. I'm guessing that the hope was that by using CAVE, essentially empty ride buildings could be constructed while all of the theming and story would exist in virtual reality. Sounds like the holo-deck on Star Trek: the next generation -- only 100x lamer.

I don't remember the line but usually Ice in our context refers to the ICE event held at the Gaylord Palms Hotel every year (which is just off WDW property and about a mile from where we live).
