That felt SO much more realistic....

The mechanics of the ride are great, but the execution is very, very poor, imo. The lack of story, and random jumping of scenes just really takes me out of it.

And I don't think every show has to have any kind of story. The "story" is scenes around California, just like any travelogue.

It's a direct lift (pun intended) from DCA. Made *some* sense in 2005, but now its just silly.

How hard is it to maintain quality of a projector??

Agree the execution is sloppy. I don't like that they made no attempt to hide the screen or the mechanics of the ride. The jump cuts during the film don't bother me so much, but I don't like how your seat determines so heavily what your ride experience is like. Sit at the edge of the screen and the attraction isn't nearly as impressive.

I just think it was hyped up much more than what the ride actually achieved. Besides, any ride that my wife can ride, and not get sick on, is not very thrilling on my scale of judging attractions.

I feel the same way about Soarin', haha.

Agreed, but it's the one "thrill" ride at WDW my grandparents can do and love, so that brings a lot of enjoyment to me.

Yup, people sure are stupid - after all this time, still standing in line for 2 hours for an attraction. To paraphrase, no one ever goes on Soarin' any more - the lines are too long!

    Same.

    And it's not THAT bad.

Save for the fact that it killed WoM and doesn't fit the park.

I ride a train to and from work every day here in Dallas. And in each car is a plasma screen with entertainment, famous quotes, etc. They do a lot of Yogi-isms (although the one I paraphrased above I've had forever!). I think my favorite is Yogi saying "I never said any of the things I said."
