I've heard it's way less crowded overall in January, but for us it was totally worth it to see everything decorated before Christmas. In other words, if crowds are your only consideration, wait until your later date, but if you consider everything together, I'd go in December.
Originally Posted By danyoung I agree with jodie - you have a chance of running into a pack of Pop Warner kids, but overall they don't impact the parks too much. The value resorts, however, are overrun with these kids, and they can get kinda rowdy.
