(And, yep, the music's always come from inside the shack...although it seems like it really should be coming from outside) I love the muggy atmosphere. You can FEEL Pirates. You can feel the very air. And add the sky, the fireflies, the (hopefully) quiet boat drifting along....mmmmmmmmmagic.

I can take or leave the scenes in town, the burning, the well, etc. But all the mood setting at the beginning is truly a bit of Disney magic!

In addition to creating false memories, i.e., "remembering" things that never were there, there is also the opposite phenomenon: noticing details for the first time, after numerous rides, which were there the whole time, but which you are sure are "new additions". It happens when you go to a place like Disneyland where there is so much detail. No one, unless they have a photographic memory (if such a thing exists), should be expected to notice everything, and remember things exactly. The same thing happens with movies. How many people notice new things each time they watch "The Wizard Of Oz"? Then, there's the people you really have to wonder about. The ones who do things like look at the Matterhorn, and swear that "It used to be taller, didn't it?"

What you remember could very well have been what you experienced.

Never once did a train go in any other direction but clockwise around the Magic Kingdom. Ever.
