You better decide if you want to enjoy the park or take a seat along the red carpet. I did not move from my spot from 10 am till they cleared us out of Disneyland. This year's event sounds like it may be alot more popular than last. Bring blankets to sit on, plenty of water to drink, snacks, a deck of cards, some sort of a mist machine as it was very hot and a camera.

I've now had two sources confirm that cast members are being told to prepare for the Pirates movie premier and the Disneyland official calendar now shows a special event happening on the 19th. That's similar to what happened for the premiere event last year. That said, there is still no official announcement from Disneyland or the movie studio on the time and place for the premier of P3. So I would urge you not to spend your life savings to be at Disneyland for this, as yet, unconfirmed event. But I did promise I would post something as soon as I knew a bit more. So here it is. Get in line for red carpet photos and autographs with your favorite stars including Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Kiera Knightly. Let the Pirate dancing begin. Also you might want to consider making hotel reservations for a room close to the park for that night. You can usually cancel those with little or no penalty with advanced notice (read your reservation agreement carefully). << So if you contact Disney next week, more than likely they will say the event is not happening... What I have posted is based on PAST events, and I can not say with 100% certainty that it will be the rule in 2007. But on the other hand, IF the premiere is held on the 19th, that Main Street will be PACKED with folks along the Red Carpet, along with all the Media bleachers and stands for the event. My guess, when they first made arrangements, Disney had no real idea that the Media event would be that weekend, heck, the "insiders" just found out about it... Not that it wasn't expected, but nobody had the exact day (and there was strong rumors of it being held elsewhere). I wouldn't take Disney to task too much, but on the other hand, I would see if they would work with you to make some "improvements" due to the Premiere....

THEY are responsible and I do not believe for one minute that they have not known for a very long time. I am not saying that the public needed to know that their precious POC movie was going to premiere that day-but as I said-the 19th should never have been an option. Total disregard for the amount of work 100 plus kids had to do to afford this trip. I am disgusted.

I'm really excited about the premiere! I'll most definitely be there with a friend and her mother (who is very, Very obsessed with Johnny Depp. Very.) I was thinking of something to get autographed by Mr.Depp (or any POTC star!) and I thought of the perfect thing! A Jack Sparrow silhouette from the Silhouette Studio! Anyone else have anything specific that they'd like autographed?

Last year it wasn't even really any less or more crowded than a normal June weekend. You have to remember last year it was not only the Premire but soft opening for Pirates all at the same time. This year it's possibly the opening of TSI in May and the Premiere, so yeah it'll probably be another crowded June weekend.
