Simba, Simba, Simba - I swear you all and our vet must think we are nuts. Yesterday around 1pm, he perked up and was fine ever since. We took him to the vet and the vet is baffled too. He did say his heart is beating like a drum. There's really nothing we can do to comfort him, but other than that he is perfectly fine. My mom and I just could not make the decision to put him down after that. So, he's still with us. We will just take it day by day. Thanks for your kind words about my health. Yesterday, stepping away for the day helped a lot. I'm doing ok. My mom is doing ok. I have good friends who keep me entertained and I'm so looking forward to the Bash. It was my sister's birthday yesterday so my mom, her and I had a nice dinner and visit just us.

The extended family will be visiting her in the hospital this weekend, and then she will be taken off all artificial life support on Monday. The medical staff will be talking with the family tonight about the medication options to help Lisa's grandma pass on as peacefully and painlessly as possible. It was always the hope of the family that they could bring Grandma Emily home for her final days, but they understand that won't be possible now. Lisa is spending virtually all of her time at the hospital, but she wanted everyone on LP who's been sending prayers, messages, good thoughts, and concern to her and her family to know that she very much appreciates it. It will probably be several days before Lisa is e-mailing and/or posting on the boards again. Please keep them all in your prayers these next few days. I will post updates here as I receive them.
