I have to say, there is much to rag on WDW, but I do not find this to be one of them. this looks like a good addition to me. Even if you do not ride it, it will add scenery, greenery and kinetics to what was the ugliest Fantasyland in the Disney empire. That is a plus IMHO. And this looks like fun too.

No it is not thrilling but I still remember my children being scared by the witch when they were little and would have liked for them to be able to share that with their children. There is still a place for rides like that in Disney. As I get older it isn't the thrill ride that I like the most.

Where is it written that the level of fun for an attraction is directly related to the number of indoor show scenes it has?
I must have missed that briefing...

It is a fun little coaster-based visit to the world of the dwarfs. It has a couple indoor show scenes and a couple of outside scenes.
    (Kinda like Big Thunder, no?)

That's all it needs to surpass the current dark ride. This isn't an attempt to reinvent the wheel, it's just a fun little D-ticket addition, and definately an upgrade to what is there now.

    >>What the resort needs is a grand slam, and this isn't it.<<

Yep, I've been saying that for...well...it seems like forever.

The thing I have to keep telling myself is that the FLE is not an attempt to boost attendance or combat WWoHP. It's just a long overdue attempt to expand the park's capacity. That's all it is.

Since the beginning I've been an advocate of the resort needing a new headliner attraction. Something that will boost attendance, grab the attention of the average guest, and get people talking about the parks again.

(They had somewhat of a chance with the Space Mountain refurb....but...ball---dropped.)

The video isn't of the ccmplete ride just a brief overview. Why don't at least break ground before you Deem it a faliure.

Be careful with this attitude as well. The concept art for Toy Story Playland in Paris looked like it was a dog. A number of us wrote to Disney concerned about the direction of travel. And guess what? They built it anyway and it was just as bad as the art work. In fact some of the defenders and wait and see folks also now agree it was a waste of space and money.

But this is thankfully not a Toy Story Playland.

Exactly. We need an E TICKET, not two auxiliary attractions.

The aesthetics will be wonderful, but that's not enough for a languishing park like MK.

There needs to be more story and bulk to it. That's the problem. Without it, what's at the heart of the new FLE? Nothing.

Of course, but again, the MK and FLE needs more than just a pretty look.

You know, if anything, use Goofini for this, and build something real on the SWSA II plot.

No doubt, but under the current Disney leadership, you are never going to get it. Millions of folks around the globe think WDW is the bees knees, and therefore is not likely to receive huge investments.

I am sorry, but Disney is no longer what it was. For very cool additions to parks and future ones, may I recommend you cast your eyes to Efteling and Europa Park as well as China.

I am sure you guys would love Droomvlucht, Ravelijn, Villa Volta and the Flying Dutchman at Efteling - all far better than anything Disney has produced in the swamps in the last 10 years.

Sorry, the US economy is in decline (as is Europe), China is in growth, and that is where Disney will invest, dependent on what they will think will bring the greatest returns.
