Clearly you don't know the fanboy rules of the internet. You are supposed to say something looks terrible before, you see, read, hear, eat or ride it. Then you see, read, hear, eat or ride it. Now you're reaction go one of two ways. Either it sucks or it rocks. However if it rocks a few years later you have to say it sucks. These are the rules.

When Disney wrote the book on the art of the dark ride. That's when. Obviously you were out that day...

No. More show scenes do not necessarily mean more fun. That's just silly.

You are comparing apples to oranges. The mine ride is not a dark ride, never meant to be. It's a fun little coaster with a couple show scenes. Nothing wrong with that.

The idea that a fun little coaster is somehow inherently inferior to an aging dark ride is completely rediculous.

I wish... But I doubt that would happen.

And why shouldn't we? Don't we want the best for the Magic Kingdom?

Of course we all WANT the best. We've just learned not to EXPECT the best.
So we take little improvements where we can get them. FLE ain't perfect by any stretch...but it's netter than what's there now.

Also it was pointed out that the expansion was to increase capacity at the MK. Why close down the highest capacity dark ride in FL for a meet and greet. They have a princess meet and greet already in the main street theater by the Mickey one. Either keep Snow White or replace it with another C ticket dark ride.

That's what happens when a park goes 2 decades without an E-ticket addition.

I'm sorry, Lee, but that's exactly what they want. Lowered expectations and acceptance. Goodness knows that I'm not giving into them.

High expectations are fine, just not if they don't have sound resoning. There is no reason to expect or demand anything more than what we are getting with the Mine Ride.

I've been trying not to single you out, but you immediately named this attraction SWSA II becuase you expected this to tell the same or similar story to SWSA. Never promised, and really not needed. (Nor would it make much sense.)

There's a place for ride with no narrative or much storytelling. Fantasyland has quite a few storytelling attractions and could use an attraction that just puts you in a setting.

I wouldn't look for an E out of this anyway. That's what I'd expect from Mermaid, which unfortunately won't be an E. It WILL be a D, on most accounts.

I never would either. But when a park goes this long without a blockbuster addition, people are going to be disappointed by small additions.

Completely and utterly disagree. MK is in desperate need to a new thrill E-ticket in Adventureland or Tomorrowland. It's current thrill offerings are at the least 20 years old.

And I know E tickets are costly (WDI built or not) and we won't get one in MK and, say, DAK. So I'm willing to let Pirates, Mansion, Splash, Big Thunder, Space, and Jungle Cruise be the only E tickets for the time being.

Is it just me or are we all losing sight of the fact that this is in Fantasyland. This is an area primarily designed for children. Children of all sizes but not necessarily for tweens, teens or adults. It is designed for kids. These are thrill rides for them.

Why must everything be a heart stopping experience to be a good attraction. Does it need to be designed to give a grownup a heart attack to be an "E" ride. (a phrase that really has no meaning to the vast majority of WDW guests) Maybe a generation and a half ago, but not now. The first time I went to WDW was in 1983. I had never heard of an E ride because by then they had stopped that ticketing procedure.

It does sound like a fun ride for kids with just enough thrills to keep young ones excited. And if you are about to tell me that Disney just didn't do that kind of stuff in the past, please explain the Carousel, Dumbo, the Raceway, the Teacups, all of which Walt himself was part of designing.

The constant putting down of something because it doesn't fit with some personal agenda or taste is really getting old. Judging by the crowds that have been reported at WDW this year...I'd say that it is a long way away from failure.
