This will be a different ride experience than what was there for the past 40 years. Better? Worse? Your mileage may vary when it's finally unveiled But so far, I think it looks like a fun addition that still highlights the source material in a new way. I'm not a huge fan of rides that try to retell the exact same story in a linear way. I'd rather they feature the characters in some new way specific to the ride, and the mine coaster does that. Plus, the addition of foliage, waterfalls, and the kinetics of the mine trains rolling by will add more life to the area.

I ask because one of the reasons I usually ride the current Snow White dark ride is because of its short lines. The mine train looks fun, but I can't imagine wanting to wait more than 15 minutes for it. If the waits are 30-45 minutes for a short, sparesely themed coaster, then I doubt I'll ride this more than a couple of times.

That's my guess. They are removing the third dark ride for a coaster next to Goofy's/Gadget's, theming it to Snow White, and then not even having Snow White or the Queen. You be the judge. >>But so far, I think it looks like a fun addition that still highlights the source material in a new way. My issue is the Snow White swap, and more importantly the lack of effort and resources to make it a great ride (with show scenes), rather than what I perceive to be a "good enough" end-result. I also hate that WDI has completely bungled the idea of "story" when it comes to attractions. From Everest, to Jack Sparrow, to Little Mermaid. So K2, I agree, this coaster is fine as one that simply offers environment and characters. My issue is that it is too dependent on the outside environment. It's a MK's Snow White to DL's Dumbo. It's 7dwarfs=Casey Jr. Both secondary characters on environmental rides. Hardly enough to feel satisfied with in terms of what the potential was for this Fantasyland expansion. The reason some are giving it a break is because the bar was set so low originally with the princess M&Gs. >>Plus, the addition of foliage, waterfalls, and the kinetics of the mine trains rolling by will add more life to the area.<< Can't agree more with you.

The crowd control in that tight of a space and the resulting wait times will be a disaster in the making. >>I ask because one of the reasons I usually ride the current Snow White dark ride is because of its short lines. Another reason why this is a Ponzi scheme when it comes to the changes from the original expansion plan. It is reshifting capacity. The M&Gs go to the solid capacity dark ride. The lower capacity coaster replaces the M&Gs.

I'm pleased that so many decades after its original release, Disney is sticking by the characters that truly put the company on the map. Roy Disney once said Snow White was the Star Wars of its day, a monster smash hit, so I'm pleased that this attraction will refresh interest in the story once again. Because in some ways it would have been easier to get all synergistic and theme it to whatever the latest movie is instead.

Does Casey Jr. refresh the interest of its riders in Dumbo? Just to be clear, that is my point. Is one segment with the dwarfs enough to represent this 'smash hit' at WDW? I'm trying to be fair and realistic here. A) It's a nice coaster, and a nice step up from the original plan. B) It should have added more indoor show scenes and the old dark ride should have been replaced with something else. I don't think those two viewpoints are mutually exclusive, what I have seen on this thread, and what caused me to jump after 130 posts is the reoccuring notion that if you express point "B" you must not believe in point "A".
