"YES ... i GET IT ... we are religious" ... now bring on a go-go boy or something ... give me *some* debauchery PLEASE..." My church as an openly gay minister. I embrace the notion that we live in a global community with multiple cultures and religions. I think it is arrogant for any ONE group to think THEY have all the answers. There are many lamps, but the light is the same.

Obama is President soon, everything's gonna be awesome now.

I think that the term "marriage" is a major stumbling block for many of us. If the term had been, as dennis suggested, "civil union" it might have been easier for some to accept. Basically, any marriage recognized by the state is exactly that and I would not be surprised someday to see changes in legal language, similar to the ones dennis suggests, for the way the state recognizes all marriages. I also expect Prop 8 to be overturned by the courts...a battle was lost, not the war. >>On the contrary, there are so many gay people who are quite religious.<< dennis, once again you've waxed eloquent. I consider myself blessed to be friends with such a man and am constantly amazed at his faith and commitment to God. Whenever I feel the need for a little spiritual guidance, this man is always first in my thoughts. The funny part is that he and I are not even of the same faith. The only thing I have to add is that I'm in my 50's and have seen a lot of changes over the past 50 years, some came slower that others. We "straights" are often fighting a lifetime of social and religious conditioning but we are (I hope) becoming more accepting. Mr X, We haven't spoken for quite some time. My best to you and your family.
