I can't tell you how many girls come dressed in micro-mini skirts, skin-tight pants/tops, low-cut tops, etc...And seriously, I'm including 2nd graders in this, as well. Last week, a little, tiny 3rd or 4th-grader came to school in, yes, you guessed it, fish-net stockings with a very short dress. It's just too early for this stuff. But watching some of the parents pick them up after school, the reasons are obvious...like mother, like daughter. And I'm not at all, surprised by the popularity of those dolls. It's how their 'heros' dress, so why shouldn't they. The parents obviously aren't concerned. I guess it was a good thing that my wife didn't have kids, I'd be waaaay too strict.

Do they have dolls dressed in the same outfits? My only reason for debating some of this is that I think people are too quick to grab on to dolls or video games or whatever as the source of all things evil in our society when in reality it is the stuff we all see day in and day out on TV, at the movies, advertisements, etc. that are much more prevalent than toys are. Against the backdrop of all that, do you really think toys make that much a difference?

LOL! I wish I had a skank-meter that would go off when a skank was nearby. My wife probably wouldn't be that thrilled with it though... But I really do hear where you're coming from. Like I said, I'm usually the last one to be bothered by stuff like this. One of my major pet peeves is the hand wringing we do about how the world is going to hell and people point to the media as evidence of that. There's plenty more wrong with the world than the media. I grew up in that environment - my mom proudly wrote letter after letter of protest when NYPD Blue first debuted. What a waste of time and energy... But for some reason, the Bratz dolls have always rubbed me the wrong way (absolutely, positively, NO pun intended). Maybe it's because they're so deliberate, whereas so much of what people complain about is them reading WAAAAAAAY too much into things (I'm looking in your direction, "Harry Potter is Evil" crowd).

Whenever my daughter sees the ones dressed like that, she says, "Ooh, yuck, that's trashy!" Apparently she has overheard me a time or two. LOL

Anatomically Correct Ken and Barbie? Lindsey Lohan doll complete with liquor bottle? This is why I haven't had children yet. Whatever happened to the Care Bears and My Little Pony?

You really don't need to worry about slutty dolls when your kids can find any kind of porn there is online. I don’t like where society is at today. While watching TV I routinely turn to my wife and say†I’m sure glad I’m as old as I am because I couldn’t take this crap for another 50 years!!†But hey… welcome to the 21st Century!!

I cannot believe the things parents are allowing kids to do, play with, watch, and listen to. And it's much bigger than the Bratz dolls. How many kids have seen the Austin Powers movies? There are AP toys marketed to kids. What kind of movies are those for children? Completely inappropriate. And popular. Wildly popular, at least in their day. Sad. Sad and stupid.
