It is pretty bad here Pete but it's suppose to be worse tomorrow when the water let at from the local dam and flood waters from higher up hit here and Brisbane. LB at least your sis is safe at your house and not in a car somewhere, I have a friend whose hubby is in his car at a carpark somewhere in Kenmore, they are flooded and he can't get home :S

I LOVED the country woman interviewed in the 7:30 Report tonight who looked completely shell shocked. The only thing that changed her expression was when she suddenly realized the local pub had been wiped out by a gigantic free-floating concrete tank and she replied, "And now we can't even have a cold one!!!" I friggin LOVE us Aussies - we RULE! To all the Banana Benders out there reading this, know that your country stands with you. We here in the West have been traditional "brothers" and "sisters" with our non-daylight saving loving Qld. brethren and we also stand with you now, in your darkest hour, ready to offer aid, support and much needed money. Be safe and all the best!

There are definitely a lot of people worse off, and BIL is home now. My sister's street is expected to go under today, but she's being quite good about it, she says it's sad for the house but at least she and her family are together and safe and not stuck in the house. I hope they don't have too much damage though! My dogs were meant to be at the kennel by now but my sister said she'd mind them for a few days extra... well now they can't get to the kennels of course, and my sister's left for Canberra so my other sister has scored the job of looking after them! Lucky lucky her. They're massive sooks when it rains too...

That really is tragic!
