Like you said, the radio station has been the best so far. I've won a trip to Texas to see Garth Brooks in concert and a wonderful trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas through the,. (Not to mention concert tickets, movie tickets, Cd's, you name it! The people I work with tease me that nobody else in Philly listens to the Country station but me and that's how I win...not true! The line is busy all the time! I actualy haven't won a prize by calling in in over a year now. But, I don't give up!) Anyway, I was just wondering if you have ever read the book "The Prize winner of Defiance, Ohio" It is soooooo awesome! There was a movie made of the (true) story, also that is on DVD now. (I actually won tickets to see it at the theater! How funny is that?) If you haven't read it already, I think you would love it! (I've got to check out these newsletters later on today! Thanks for the tips!)

Nothing ventured, nothing gained!! Thanks again!! ºoº

I would love to win one to WDW or even a Disney Cruise...but not yet...but like you, I never give up! I just went to the post office this morning and mailed at least 20 #10 envelopes, with Mickey's picture on each one for various contests. It is so much fun and when you win, all it does is encourage you to win more. And your right about your co-workers...they hate to hear "I won something again"!! And it isn't that I am bragging, it's just that I am so darn excited and I tell them that they can win too, but I don't think they believe it or do they want to spend the time and energy that I do.. Boy, was that a mouth full! See how excited I am??? I can't even sleep!!!!! ha..ha..ha.. As for this book, nope haven't read it or have I heard about it, but it sounds very interesting. I am going to try and get it before we board the plane on Wednesday!!! Enjoy those websites for the newsletters too....I think you can request a copy of each one to see what they are all about and the gals that run them are great!! You'll be amazed as to how many contests that are out there!! I sure am! Good luck fellow sweeper/Disney nut!! ºoº

How do you decorate your envelopes MsLindanne? Stickers, stamps? I'm so excited..it all sounds like fun! Still haven't googled those newsletters yet, but trust me, I will!

After you read it , you will have to rent the movie. You won't believe that someone as glamorous as Julianne Moore could play her, but she is wonderful in the part! Here is a synopsis of the book: <a href="http://tinyurl.com/rgcdj" target="_blank">http://tinyurl.com/rgcdj</a> That's funny that Darkbeer posted the mousesavers link...I go there every single day, and have for about 3 years, to enter all of those Disney contests and I have never won a darn thing from any of them. I think I should listen to MsLindanne's advice and go back to the P. O. (I got hooked on the web contests, though, b/c they're free. The only big prize I've ever won through the web is when I won a $3500 Disney Visa Gift card on the Tony Danza show last year. I had to answer a Disnelyand trivia question on the air b/c that was my area of "expertise"! lol)

Originally Posted By MsLindanne Thanks Tink! Now that you mention it, I do remember this movie when it came out and I thought to myself, "now this could be about me"...ha..ha.. So I am going to check it out for sure... And I too have been logging into Mousesavers and entering the contests and coming up empty. But people do win and ya can't win unless you enter...so what the heck. But I've always found that a little more effort, means a lot more profit. And a lot of people that enter contests look for the easy way. So I will continue on with the envelopes and 3 x 5's pieces of paper. Mickeynewe, yes I decorate my little #10 envelopes with Mickey by himself, or Minnie, or the two of them together, or even Donald, Pluto or Goofey. Now when I bought my first HP printer, it came with some Mickey Print software and this is where I get it. I can make letterhead, business cards, greeting cards, or envelopes. When I bought my new printer, at first this software wouldn't load in, but after a few hours of struggling and some cussing to go right along with it...ha..ha.., I was able to get it to work. Now....I've looked for an updated version and haven't found it anywhere. So this is worth it's weight and gold as far as I am concerned. Some people say it doesn't matter what you do as far as decorations on the envelopes because most of the time, your 3x5 piece of paper is just put in a pile with a bunch of others and the envelope is tossed. But....having said that...I am winning, so I am going to keep on with what works for me. During one of my many visits to Disneyland, I've picked up some stickers, but haven't used them yet. One of these days I will though! Hope that helps! It's a great little hobby and it can be very profitable. I am excited for you as I am sure your going to enjoy it!! Any more questions, just give me a hoot and a holler! Geezzzz...I am from California, why am I talking like that???? ha..ha.. ºoº

Here is hoping that you win many more contests, and that we both win the DVC points in the Disney Dreams Giveaway By the way, if you send me an email, I will be happy to send you my cell phone number in case the Disney folks are kind enough to give you that 4th pass... Heck, if you ask nicely, I might even be willing to play tour guide for a few hours Thursday (have the day off) as a thank you.... And that offer is open, no matter the status of the evening tickets...

Mickeynewe, your post card is just to cute. Nice going!! Now question for you...in our local post office, the main door are closed during after hours, but there are still machines that sell post cards, stamps etc...don't you have access to something like that so you don't have to wait till Monday? Just a thought...Our Post Office is to busy, no matter what time of day it is so I hate to go there during regular hours. And yes...Winning Sweeps is one I use and another is Gold Rush. It has a different website name but ultimately it is Gold Rush. Both are a little different and sometimes offer the same contests, but other times offer different ones. Also, there are some contests you can enter once, so when you do, make a list of these because if you should see them listed on both newsletters, you don't want to enter them twice and be disqualified. I don't know how, with all the many entries they receive, might find out about it, but you don't to take the chance. Know what I mean? Following the instructions is so important. Even down to the P.O. Box, versus P O Box....sometimes they want a decimal, sometimes not. And...Winning Sweeps is a little cheaper than the other, but that's just because Winning Sweeps comes to you once a month and the other is weekly. Both are run by great women and very anxious to help you win. If you send them emails, they always respond that same day. I use to subscribe, by mail to a newsletter in the 1980's...then they went belly up...so now having these to subscribe to is the best investment I've ever made. You will not be disappointed!! So get going!! I am anxious to hear about your first win!!! ;-) Back to packing!!!!! lol

I guess I should..but why do they have to make them so long and boring? LOL..does that sound petulant enough? MsLindanne, I know you said your old Disney graphic program wasn't working, but here is a tip for you. Go online and search for free Disney graphics. Save the ones you like to your computer (I plan on changing the design weekly as I am easily bored, lol) and then import into any graphic program. I like Microsoft Publish It. I use this program all the time for different projects. If you don't have a graphic program, I am sure you can easily pick one up cheaply on Ebay. Then just make your layout and save as a jpeg file. After that you can bring it up on with your Windows standard view and choose the print option and choose the 3/5 x 5" size to print. Voila! Easy as 1-2-3!!
