I wasn't really looking for any benches or places to sit, so I don't really remember any. I think there were some on the docks that the Twain and Columbia use during Fantasmic!, but those looked sunnier than the rest of the island. Of course, those are still probably shadier than most of the park, since it is all relative.

The best two places are for me, 1) the unused landing that faces the steamboat landing, shaded in the afternoon, close to an underutilized restroom, plenty of places to sit and 2) there's a little graveyard behind the fort that doesn't get much foot traffic.
