But... I haven't even slept in my bed in five monhs! Since I got my dog, I have been sleeping on the couch in the living room, so I can be close to her. She sleeps in a crate. :D

Wow! I never liked a pet enough to change my sleep habits. You must be dog's best friend.

So not scratching or coughing fur motivates me to make my bed each morning.

Well, for one thing, I have always been comfortable on my couch. At "my age," falling asleep there hasn't been a problem!

The other thing is, when I got my puppy, she was already nine months old, and I was the second owner... she was returned to the breeder by the first owner. :( So she was _very_ scared of me in the beginning. I slept on the couch to get her used to me. Since she is soooo lovable and SOFT, I just haven't gone back to my bed. I'd let her sleep with me on my bed, but it's way too small for that... and she really likes staying and sleeping in her crate. :)

I'm the same Suzie Q ... except I don't make it on weekends due to a thing we have called "Weekend Syndrome".
