Now THAT I would have protested for (in favor of, not against)!

In high school, our teachers had not had a raise in some time and their contracts were up and the teachers were picketing the schools. At the time, I was active in my school's newspaper and social community and we had a great teacher. We asked him if he ever protested, since we knew he claimed to be a hippy in the 60's. Turned out he was and he guided us to protest FOR our teachers. He was such a wonderful instructor! We skipped our first class of the day, picketed out front to show our support and our request for teacher wage increases, then, we had to cover our protest in the newspater, and then we had to have a panel discussion covering how organized protests work. We also had to learn about past protests didn't work.

I also vaguely remember protesting with my mom when I was four. I carried a sign but I couldn't remember what it was about.

I think the last thing I actually marched against was the first Gulf War. I'm not fond of large crowds, and police scare me, so I tend not to get involved in street protests, though I will flash a peace sign, sign a petition, vote, and (if I have any) donate money for a good cause.
