And I would LOVE for you to show me how just because something profits how it benefits me, the guest.
You, again, use a severely faulty warrant in your argument.

You and I will never agree on some basics around here for you constantly act as the Disney voice and I don't give a rip about profitabilty or corporate structure; I only care about how I'm treated as a guest.

    Sorry, I don't see it.

The mechanics of DVC and all other setups I have seen are really quite similar. Think: Coke/Pepsi, Democrat/Republican, Lowe's/Home Depot.... similar creatures with different labels.

///2. because buy from a quality compnay and receive quality///

It looks like you're suggesting that Dis. offers quality, hmmmm???? If that is what you are implying then I only see pockets of quality and many areas that still need work.

I for one didn't realize I was on vacation until I saw the Disney Vacation Club kiosks. I thought I was in an alternate reality - ruined the whole damn day.

The Spirit is always close by, Dear Christi (and he does have more advice for your DLP visit, but won't be able to give it to you until he's back in the States) ... but I do want to reiterate that the OLC's parks are damn near perfect in SQS.

Folks conditioned to WDW attractions/shows like PoC, Splash Mtn, Everest, Fantasmic and literally probably dozens more where things are constantly in disrepair would be shocked at riding or viewing attractions that all look like they opened yesterday.

They ARE that good in Tokyo.

It's mindboggling what kind of difference you see even on simple attractions like Fantasyland dark rides yet alone top flight attractions like JTTCoTE or ToT.

And, yes, that thread will be coming to a LP near you sometime in early 2011.

But I am back in Hong Kong with no work for the next few days, so I don't want to spend it all ripping WDW when that can wait!

BTW, I hear it is FREEZING there now.

It's comments like that that give them every excuse to keep on doing things like that, I think. I know you are joking, but there's something to be said for the illusion of what they do, AND the QUALITY (there's a theme here...) of how they do it.

Don't look at the parks as a vacation. Look at it how THEY look at it. Everything is a show. That's how it's designed. It's a interactive back drop for the actions and events and stories you get to witness while there.

Think of it as a play. Do you want the scenery to be covered in advertisements, and things that don't fit the backdrop, or do you want a cohesive environment that transports you to the event you are seeing.

One is tacky, low class, and cheap, the other is high class, quality, and very Disney.

That's how they refer it it, even in current WDI Guides. The whole "facade" of the place is the set, and it's the setting.

Why clutter it up with cheap advertisements and ruin the illusion of the story?

SuperDry is stocking up on popcorn and Diet Coke in anticipation - I predict there's going to be some good readin' in the WDW section come 2011.

The WDI guides are simply tools to use on the fanbois. No more, no less.

<<Why clutter it up with cheap advertisements and ruin the illusion of the story? >>

You think they care about story?
C'mon, I taught you better than that. Critical thinking time.

Selling timeshares > any sense of story.

    I'm planning on it.

I just can't believe the magnitude of difference between so many things in Tokyo and the other parks, but mostly WDW (DL and DLP usually have pretty high quality SQS as does the little park on Lantau).

People need to wake up on WDW ... but I doubt most will.

Americans have been Walmarted, so many of them can't tell what quality is anymore and they just want their 'magical' week at BW, PO or the Poly ... no matter what kind of experience they really are getting!
