How true. Nothing puts it into sharper contrast than to see guys in shoulder-strap t-shirts with some clever saying on it posing for pictures with perfectly dressed and coiffured Disney princesses. Yee-haw!

    >> One more question... what does this has got to do with WDW in particular?? <<

Actually, a good question. I don't know, maybe I'm just picking up on gripers agreeing with gripers too much. Or maybe I'm just not eating enough cheese.

Blackie Pueblo has made a very accurate statement.

This is simply all it is. Talk about likes and dislikes all you want to.

It's the I'm right and you're wrong; I know and you don't; I've done this and you haven't attitude. Give reasonable discussion if you have that much "inside info".

This is how I feel too (I think maybe you'll disagree BP after my next statement)

I don't mind saying "I think Mr. Toad's was so much better than Pooh" but I think it's a little wrong for me to say something like "Don't waste your time on Pooh cause it's sickening. Toad was 100x better and you're a damned fool to believe otherwise"

You can state your feelings without being hostile. I loved a lot of the older rides in WDW more than the ones that took their place (Horizons, JIYI, Toad, 20K, Alien Encounter -though in fairness I haven't seen Stitch yet but I've heard it is not too great and I loved AE- WoM even though I like TT too etc) although I don't think I've ever said anything worse than they haven't met my expectations or I personally wouldn't wait in the lines for the particular ride. I think those are fair statements - especially on the rating pages of the "Guides" which is where most of my comments on this subject appear. People read those to actually get an idea of the ride, whether it's worth seeing on a limited schedule, and how people view the ride. But again, even on the rating system I don't think it's right to post "THIS RIDE SUCKS!!!! DON'T EVEN TRY IT" as I've seen - try "I rated this ride a 1/4 because the ride lacked a b and c and not worth the wait" or something constructive.

No, we are just pointingout the obvious. And, no one needs to be constructive since we are not management nor do we have to means to effect change, especially now that 99% of guests complains at City Hall are thrown out or dismissed by the CMs who should be able to effect the changes necesary to improve WDW as a whole..

    Makes sense to me.

I don't know why people can't just ignore opinions (that are not stated as facts) they disagree with instead of debating peoples' right to say something like 'Pooh sucks, don't waste your time.' If that's someone's opinion, that's it. Let it go. Or post a counter opinion and move on.

You shouldn't need to have your newsgroups strained of all intelligent debate because some inane opinion might hurt your feelings.

So here's my opinion. WDW used to be great and now it's merely very good overall and worse in some areas (like the Studios).

I don't think that PotC at WDW "sucks" compared to DL's... It may not be as long with it missing the majority of the skeltons and what not but it's still a very good ride. Isn't the ending different too? I haven't been to DL in a long time but I for some reason recall liking the end of WDW's better.

Because we live in a civil society that depends on social interaction to avoid conflict.

You're saying that it's my job to "just ignore" someone who's diminished me by telling me I can't judge for myself that what I just enjoyed, I really didn't?

I think not. In our society it's your job to state your opinions in such a way that does not insult.

In a similar way -- aggressive motorists that offer drivering "tips" by way of "informing" someone else that they should be driving better (in their opinion) serve to RAISE tension, and promote conflict.

I have noticed that people tend to escalate to more aggressive language and volume when it becomes apparent that their "informative statements" are being ignored.

Hey -- remember Johnny Depp wearing his mask in "Don Juan DeMarco?" Well Johnny and I are both the same gender at least.

This part I for one absolutely agree with -- we don't need to turn this board into WE. However I also agree differing opinions are good, but there is no good reason for us all not to be civil to one another about it....

I never said it was better :) I just pointing out that it does not "Suck" compared to DL. It's shorter time in the boat but there's more walk through theme with the queue (something DL HM fans always point out when people say WDW's is better for being 'longer') and there's a different scene in it.

I love BOTH rides and I don't think it's "obvious" that WDW "sucks" that's all. I think both DL and WDW have highs and lows. Some points DLs wins out hands down while others I'd say WDW, but they're both still amazing places.
