Before the rally, Jon Stewart said that the discourse has been hijacked by those on the right who think Obama's a socialist and those on the left who think 9/11 was an inside job. The problem with that is I can't name a single Democratic leader who thinks 9/11 was an inside job, while the Republicans who think Obama is a socialist is pretty much all of them. Maher is spot on. Stewart has equated whack-jobs who spout off conspiracy theories on open mic night at the coffee shop with the highest members of the Republican leadership. Telling, no?
