Those little details add so much to the characters. I find it amazing that they can do this. Also, the way Linguini gasps when he realizes Remy understands him. The voice acting is incredible. And then the music is terrific in the trailer. My eyes welled up at the end. I cannot wait.

As with Cars, I hope that I am. Either way, just like Meet the Robinson's, they WILL get MY ticket money. We see all Pixar Films in the theater.

The charaters seemed a little more adult I think. Good movie - go see it !!!

Pixar in my opinion did a good job not to disclose, in my opinion, their best jokes in their trailers. I will be interesting to see how this movie does. I think it is a must see for every Disney fanatic but I don't know how it will do with the under 8 crowd, which we all know is Disney's bread and butter. The only other real competition to this movie is Transformers and Surfs Up. I don't see Transformers making a dent but Surf's Up has a had a lot more publicity than Ratatoulle, so it could be interesting. On a seperate note I am looking forward to seeing that Bee Movie. It looks like it will be really good based on the trailers.

Compared to Nemo or TS2 it had fewer big laughs, and those films earned some honest tears too, which Rat. didn't, but Pixar sets the bar very high. (Cars was the only one I thought was just "good," rather than really good or excellent). This one was really good and a return to form after Cars. And Ratzenburger must have disguised his voice or had a very small part, because I know he was in there, but I didn't notice who he was.

There is supposedly a cameo of Family Dog from Bird's exceptional work on Amazing Stories, and in carrying forward Bird's tradition there should be a Frank & Ollie reference. And for that matter, there should be a Pizza Planet truck somewhere too.

It's smart, it doesn't pander or dumb itself down for the audience - This is Pixar at "Lady & The Tramp" level storytelling. Relaxed, ingenious, comfortable in their own skin. Not the funniest or most adventurous tale . . . just simply: Artist's at the peak of their craft. Telling a heart warming story - and blowing your doors off in the process. I am seriously trying to figure out in my head if this is not one of the 3 best animated films of ALL time. Snow White, Fantasia, Ratatouille? Pinnochio, Snow White, Ratatouille? For me, it is THAT good. I was lucky enough to see it for free at the studio Cast Member screening Saturday morning - and I can't wait to see it again, and again on my dime. I don't even want to get into how superb this is visually - there has never been a better computer animated film - visually - it's not even close. From the reflections in spoons, the texture of velvet, a river in broad day light, wine pouring from a bottle, diffused light through night-time fog, scratches on a piece of wood . . . . it just goes on and on, and yet none of these things take away from the story or scream LOOK AT ME! You just have no choice but to see them - the fluidity with which a character chops vegetables, the rings of a sliced purple onion - if you move your eyes away from the main characters you are always treated to a visual feast. This is one of the most lush, detailed, visually stimulating films I have seen in my 45 years. BUT - really, this movie succeeds because of it's story and it's characters. Pixar has not just raised the bar many, many notches - they have raised it a couple of floors. My favorite Pixar films were The Incredibles & Finding Nemo (no particular order) - but they have both taken a backseat to Ratatouille. My only small quibble was that to me it felt about 10 minutes too long - but I still can't figure out WHICH 10 minutes could be excised (I'm sure the Pixarians felt the same dilemma and ultimately decided there was no fat to be trimmed - the story is what it is)- but by the end of the film I no longer cared - and I was sad to have to leave the world they had created. Bravo Pixar. Bravo. Now bring me one of those dessert trays!
