As we approached San Diego, DS9 said "oh look! it's the city from Soarin Over California!" Our hotel room even looks right out over an aircraft carrier. The weather is very pleasant and a bit overcast and we decided to hit the zoo first today. Some cousins joined us, including one from LA who is a horticulturalist. Have you ever been to the San Diego Zoo with someone who has to stop and look and comment on every sngle plant? You haven't lived until you do. There must be a bajillion different species there and I heard the names of all of them. The bus tour was great. Beacuse it's a bit cool, all the animals were a lot more active than the last time I was here. Through some form of bad planning we ended up with the two people in our group most afraid of heights on the same sky tram. All I can say is, I'm glad I was in the other gondola. Saw the giant pandas and my favorite, the red panda. Go to youtube and search for red panda to see what I mean.
