    I did not "belittle" you.

    That is YOUR interpretation.

I merely pointed out the hypocrisy of your vote based on the belief system you touted on these boards.

You were the one who blasted politicians for being too cozy to lobbyists.

You stated that as your main peeve with politicians in general.

But then you vote for a politician who is very much pro-lobbyist, to the point of appointing a well-known lobbyist as his new chief-of-staff.

It had NOTHING to do with how I would have voted.

It had EVERYTHING to do with your own professed political beliefs.

You did not vote your beliefs.

Apparently anyone who points out imperfect behavior such as this is your "enemy" who is deliberately trying to "belittle" you. That's bunk.

You expect others to own up to their own personal crap, but expect everyone else to give you a free pass when it's your personal crap in full view.

The problem does not lie with me.

The problem lies completely with YOU.

How perfectly synchronistic that this pops up in a thread about Fred Phelps and his sick and twisted ego.

I have no doubt that you believe that. You also believe a lot of other wrongheaded stuff, why should this be any different? (by the way, you never addressed mine nor SuperDry's comments to you about how un-Catholic your comments are, does that mean you agree?).

    Yeah, getting along sucks.

Much better to have a resident troll under the bridge who doesn't care what it has to say, true or not, ridiculous or not, offensive or not, just to get a rise out of people.

Gee, come to think about it America actually has just such a troll as well...and it's called the Westboro Baptist Church!

Congrats, DAR. You've just proven your worth as an LP poster.

DAR, the Wesboro Church of laughingplace.

"Today, friends and families gathered in Raleigh, NC to mourn Elizabeth Edwards, who died this week after battling cancer. Outside, a small group of protesters from the extremist anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church picketed the event because they said Edwards “spent her life in defiance and disobedience to God.” The church regularly harasses the families of dead American soldiers by picketing homosexuality at their funerals with signs like “pray for more dead soldiers,” and “your sons are in hell.”

But at Edwards’ funeral today, the tiny group of hate mongers was confronted by more than 300 counterprotesters, who turned out to stand against hate, despite the rain:

Members of the controversial Westboro Baptist Church picketed the funeral of Elizabeth Edwards in Raleigh, N.C. Saturday. But they were vastly outnumbered by a “human buffer” of people who quietly stood in the rain singing Christmas carols and carrying signs reading “God loves Elizabeth Edwards” or simply “Grace” and “Hope.” [...]

In a 2007 interview, Mrs. Edwards described herself as “completely comfortable with gay marriage,” hence the Westboro protesters at the funeral. But on Saturday just five church members (two of them children) showed up to picket, waving hateful signs about Mrs. Edwards and the United Methodist Church where the service was held."

    HA! Good for them!

Five hate-filled nitwits outdone by 300 counterprotestors.

    I love it!

And, for the record, I'd LOVE it if Admin let me know why my post got admined. From what I recall, I just suggested we not kill all of a man's family, that we plan to picket his funeral (for which I'd gladly get a permit to assemble), and posted a link to an article written by the estranged son of the evil Fred Phelps.

......or more like 300 nitwits with nothing better to do than falling for Westboro's plans.

Sorry to tell those hoping for Fred's damnation but those are some of the basic "rules" of salvation in Christianity. But if the Buddhist or Hindu belief system(or any other for that matter) is the real deal then all bets are off as to where Fred is destined to go.
