So one had been planned, anyway. As to the EP being held over, I agree that it was a poor decision. The event was billed as THE farewell. Held-over-by-popular-demand, as we all know, really meant held-over-so-we-can-hawk-souvenirs-for-another-two-weeks. The profit from the souvenirs probably didn't add up to the loss of goodwill, which was manifested the next year in that raucus reaction to Light Magic. Seems during the Pressler era they just couldn't see the forest for the money.

But we did joke quite a lot about the parade that was leaving but wouldn't go away. Back on topic, I'm guilty of HM spieling, but quietly so only my son can hear it.

Shame the entitled passholders killed it for the rest of us.

They chat up other guests and give them good tips on making their vacation better. If they sit down early for a parade or show, they often save a couple of extra spaces to give away to "once in a lifetime" type guests. They also tend to be the kind that make things better for the CMs, too. Yes, the CMs are paid to be there and work is not necessarily supposed to be a party, but these kinds of APs will stop by for short, fun chats with CMs who come to know them, never blocking access to that CM for other guests. So, there are some APs who actually improve the experience for others.

They have given me goodviewing for parades, recommended shows and just generally shared their advice and knowledge of the parks.. I love meeting AP's because everyone I have met I've had a positive experience with.. I dont think I have ever gone on HM, normal times or Holidays, that I haven't heard at least one person reciting the spiel but it never bothered me.. Just made me jealous I haven't been enough times to know it that well!!

If I'm just being asked directions, I can usually point them in the right direction; otherwise, I explain (with VERY GENTLE sarcasm) that they'd be better off asking someone who actually works there, point out how they can recognize CMs, and refer them to the nearest CM.

I think it would all depend on how it's enforced. Flash photography isn't permitted inside attractions, yet people do it on occasion. However, since the rule is published it probably prevents it from happening as much as it would if it were not. To me there is no difference in experiencing a Disney attraction and going to the movies - silence your cell phone and keep unnecessary banter to a minimum. If you've been to the Haunted Mansion so many times that you know the spiel word for word and feel compelled to recite it loudly inside the attraction then perhaps it's time for you to find a new activity. Seriously.
