I agree with crapsoot unless your a cm you have no right telling some one else to shhh. No ride or show do they say NO TALKING ALONG WITHE THE RIDE! If it were a problem they'd add it to the safety spiel right after no flash picture. I've seen people do worse on rides and shows like change diapers, cpls dry humping, spit "i do find it rude to ruin the ride for a first timer." How do you know it was ruined? did you ask them if it did?

"i do find it rude to ruin the ride for a first timer." >>How do you know it was ruined? did you ask them if it did?<< I can tell you for certain that I've been in the HM with first timer friends who witnessed the reciting of the spiel in the stretch room. Yes, it ruined the suspense of the attraction for them and they said so.

Frankly, noisy, screaming young children bother me much more than anyone reciting a spiel. And who'se going to shush the kid? Nobody. Somehow, they get a free pass.

Just keep your mouth closed and all will be well with the world. No one here pays their hard earned money to book a hotel, get on a plane, and enter Disneyland to listen to your performance of the Haunted Mansion Spiel. Reciting spiels, yakking and chatting on the phone, and taking flash pictures during rides is inappropriate and rude. "One thing about it, if a person has a disagreeable experience on an attraction, they are more than welcome to get back in the queue and go through again." Wow, what an arrogant boorish attitude. Really Crapshoot? "Frankly, noisy, screaming young children bother me much more than anyone reciting a spiel. And who'se going to shush the kid? Nobody." I'm happy to do it if the parents aren't making an attempt to quiet the child. There's nothing wrong with teaching children proper manners while in a public place.

If someone is enjoying the attraction and mimics the evil laugh a little bit, no biggie. But if someone has a serious case of the look-at-me's and wants to ruin the show for everyone else, well, that's just rude and selfish.
Originally Posted By Yookeroo "I guess what I am saying is what's worse than one guest reciting Thurl Ravenscroft's spiel in the Stretching Room, would be another guest letting out some loud and sustained shush." Wrong. Reciting the spiel is far worse. "unless your a cm you have no right telling some one else to shhh." I have every right to shush whoever I want. "No ride or show do they say NO TALKING ALONG WITHE THE RIDE!" So? I don't need a Disney rule to define civil behavior for me. You spiel reciters use the same logic that smokers use (or used, they've mostly last their battles). "It's not prohibited, so it's not rude!"

AH and there we have it, you've been to the park so much you think your a police of the park. You people are throwing the word RUINED around far too much. Really? so after the doors opened you pouted with your arms crossed for the rest of the ride? So when they get to the HM in the fireworks and EVERY ONE says along with it, that ruins that too for you? I'm just being devils advocate here I'm not bothered by others talking along with the show. I find it silly that this dead horse of a topic is always dragged out. top 3 dead horses that are dragged out smoking flash pic talking along There are lots of thing that bug us but to come on here and whine about it all the time is silly. If it really bothers you that much write letters, tell city hall to enforce a shut up rule.

"I never understand why people are so eager to shut a topic down by declaring people whiners." It is really odd. Basically what we're being told is "Too bad if you don't like my annoying behavior, your opinion is silly anyway".

DUHHH!!! if you dont think its a problem that people are having full conversations on rides, then something is wrong.

But they were all looking around and pointing at the stretching pictures. Chuckling at the humor of them. Their eyes seemed to be taking it all in. And it was quiet. Their kids were the same way. Sitting on shoulders, or holding their parent's hand, just looking around. Very effective. And a lot better than trying to concentrate on that masterful voice of Paul Frees when someone is standing in your ear, overpowering his voice. I'm not there to listen to the guest's version of it.
