Get off your lazy butts and stop by Guests Relations/Hotel Concierges and express how you percieve things, write letters to them via disneyworld.com... Whatever, that's what you do because that is all you can do. Also, express your views on sites like this one because it is a documented fact that many people in charge who can effect change visit these boards, and some folks in the internet Disney Fan community are even more connected with Disney than you could possibly imagine. >>I think TDLFAN is just kidding to a large extent. << Maybe. Then maybe not. >>But please be aware that many of us flying on upgrades are empathetic towards the problems, and think twice before hitting the call button, if at all.<< As long as you continue to fly any particular airline that treats their employees like gargabe, you are NOT being enphathetic to any one at all. The only way you can clearly send a message to airline management is by stating via written letter that you will *refuse* to fly their airline and take business to another alliance partner line (where you can keep rakingin the miles in your account) until the settle their labor problems and treatment. Tell them the staff frustration is displayed and you refuse to fly them because (and spell it like this--->) YOU DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THEIR CARE! Comment cards from customers (especially the darling frequent flyers) will get management attention. So NO, as long as you continue flying any particular carrier with labor problems, you are NOT helping the cause of those who provide you service in the front lines. As for that call button.. feel free to press it. WE turn them off with one simple press of a button in our console, so we don't have to hear it. After all, we don't get paid enough to refill you whisky/7, or provide CPR.

What you are buying is more staff and better trained staff. Look at the lines at the check-in desk at the All Star. It's ridiculous the volume those CM are expected to handle. If they get a little cranky when someone makes a complaint I guess I can understand it. Now look at the check-in at a Deluxe resort where you rarely see more than 3-4 people in line. Those people are getting better service and they are getting it from a CM that is not totally stressed out by the workload. If you have a complaint I imagine they are much more likely to by sympathetic than the CM at the All Star. I would also imagine the Deluxe resorts are staffed by more experienced CM. I frequently see the "Earning my Ears" pins at the All Stars and at the Fort Wilderness check-ins. I don't think I've ever seen one at a Deluxe resort. So yes, when you pay the higher rate you are buying a bigger room, a nicer pool, and a couple of restaurants. But more than anything you are buying more people and the higher level of service that comes from that.

The only way this mess is going to turn around, is if profitability returns. And without customers, I doubt this will occur. <<As for that call button.. feel free to press it. I'm happy and content with the service I receive without requesting more. And I stopped being a frequent flyer years ago. The miles don't expire, so I'm slowly using them up with upgrades. They'll be gone in a few more trips, so boo hoo for you. 8^P

I love Disney and actually got to meet this Mr Weis you mention...he is an awesome guy!

Of course.. it all set me back $1,700 because our employer-paid insurance is garbage, along with my now reduced annual income pay of 30-some thousand $$$ a year, gross pay that is B4 taxes. >>next up, dental service on a plane, kill two birds with one stone type of deal.<< Hey, I am up for that. With all free upgrades and free loaders having first turns. I would love nothing less added to my duties onboard those planes.

Disney to live up to its amazing legacy for producing the best animation in the world, the best family films and the most amazing themed attractions, parks and resorts in the world. That's it. Simple as that. Live up to your reputation. I am not jaded about the company in the least, just a lot of its management. <<Heck, even TDLFAN wants a Disney that he remembers from "the old days".
