I woke up feeling amazingly awake this AM. I figured I would sleep all day but was ready to face unpacking. (YUCK!!)
I'm making plans for a road trip with my dad, for his birthday toward the end of the month, to Laughlin, Nevada. He's always enjoyed that place. Personally, I can take it or leave it. I'm not a big gambler......BUT, I do like to drink and I look forward to tossing back a few with my best ol' buddy.
It's fun if you win a little bit...which is why I'm not big on gambling. I usually don't win. Though, I'm reminded of a fun day my wife and I had in Las Vegas years ago. Back then, the Las Vegas Hilton had an interactive attraction called, "Star Trek: The Experience." It was awesome! Anyway, afterwards, you exited through a gift shop and then into a lounge. We decided to sit at the bar and have another drink. There were built-in poker machines in the bar. The bartender was kind of snippy with us and said we had to be playing before he could serve us a drink. So, I bought a roll of quarters and we, very slowly, pumped a few quarters into our machines. I won a little and lost a little-- but won enough to keep us playing while we finished our drinks. By the time we were done, I cashed out about $200 worth of quarters. We laughed and thanked the bartender for making us play. Then we left.
Thank you to Rod's cousin for driving all of the way up here to bring us lunch. (And especially for helping me give the MIL a shower.) I did not want to take her to the hospital on Thursday all smelly and with oily hair.
