Don't forget to go get your FLU shots!! I just got mine last week from a walk-through clinic through Kaiser. It was set up outdoors, and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. This is the first time in over a decade (almost TWO decades) that I decided to get one. I had gotten pretty sick from the first one I had, but I believe that was back when they were using active agents instead of synthetic. No issues from this last one, so I guess I will put it back on my yearly to-do list.

@crazycroc I hadn't heard of Covid causing those kinds of symptoms before, but I guess everybody reacts a little differently to the virus. Do you know if there is any validity to people with Covid not being able to recognize the taste of peppermint or coconut even if they can taste other things? My guy reads TOO much, and forgets that you have to hear/read the same information from at least two or three different sources for it to have a little bit of validity and even then to be leery of it because false information will always be out there too. I thank God that he is not on any kind of social media...I can only imagine what that could do to his brain...LOL!

I love my goat forum but let's face it; most of them are Southern farmers. They are convinced of the very worst that we hear. We are not even allowed to argue anything and especially not politics. That is okay by me; we are a fun and friendly, helpful goat owners forum. But with Covid there has been threads that have slipped that way. I have to sit on my hands not to YELL sometimes. But the mods are good and quickly shut down anything that looks like it is getting too intense. I just cannot believe some of the *facts and figures* they spew.
Just had to vent that here as I am not supposed to there.;)

I've been spending a bit too much time on the Disneyland forums on another site reading about openings, Newsome, and how sad people really are for the economy in Orange County. I have to distance myself from that sometimes and go back to reading WDW trip reports to find a bit of "normalcy" in this crazy time. I do miss my parks, but it's just not worth the risk yet.

My normalcy gauge is based on Disneyland being open. I have no idea how long it will be before we feel it is worth the risk:(
And yes, it is dire in the Anaheim area. Motels, restaurants, even the gas stations can't afford their employees.

49 years ago today I spent an evening with Rod and told my friend, "I am going to marry him!"
    The rest is history.

    Just remember:
    25 is Silver
    50 is Golden
    75 is Diamond
100 is the Congressional Medal of Honor.

51 is a fire station, 52 is a deck of cards, and 55 is a speed limit sign.

    Rest in Peace, Alex Trebek.

Your struggle, and what was learned from it, has brought hope to millions.

Though somebody will undoubtedly succeed you, nobody will ever replace you.

Truly a member of our family. Barely a weeknight he was not in our living room.

There is once again a Dragon in orbit. And the ISS has the most people on board it's had since the last Shuttle undocked.

Did you ever, in your wildest nightmares of a year ago, imagine that you'd be asking Santa for something that had to be delivered through a hypodermic needle?

Seriously! With the hope that it is as effective as they say and that enough people get it to see a marked difference.

I think the sad thing is that even though I am considered to be a front line employee the likelihood of me being able to get the vaccine is super low due to my age and health. I honestly can't wait for this election process to be over. Working inside a wooden box has not been good for my mentality...definitely feeling a bit of covid fatigue over here. My parents are going to be making Thanksgiving dinner, boxing up meals for us, and calling me to pick it up when its ready. I really hate this...I know it is keeping everybody safe physically, but mentally I really want to sit down with my parents and just get a hug.

Oh hugs!! After we had been in WA for 2 weeks we felt it was okay to hug. My daughter would not let go of me. We were both crying before we let go.
It looks like we are going to have fair enough weather to keep windows open or even use our new deck that got very little use this summer. So our daughter's family will be coming over for Thanksgiving.

Anybody else here remember when "Black Friday" was something merchants didn't talk about? To each other? And to outsiders, they said even less?

    I miss those days.

I do remember. It seems no one wanted the world to know that it was the day of the year that got merchants out of the Red and into the Black.

I am a bit embarrassed to admit that when we got to Wal-Mart today I did not realize why the flag was at half mast. When we got home the Waltons was on TV and they were showing the Pearl Harbor episode. Duh!!!
This day is personal to me though I was not born yet. As the characters received a telegram informing them of a death in the family; I reflected on what it must have been like for my great aunt Lizzy to hear the dreadful news and then wait for the telegram revealing the unthinkable; her son John was among those aboard the Arizona.
I visited the Memorial numerous times when we lived in Hawaii. It is a very awe inspiring place.

    You and me both.

I subscribe to email half-mast notices. And our flagpole (and the one before it) is fully-rigged (with a halyard made from polyaramid cord that looks like clothesline, but is as strong as a climbing rope (and as stiff as 14-gauge copper wire), precisely so that our flag can be lowered to half-mast.

I got the Pearl Harbor Day notice during the weekend. And then I promptly forgot it until late yesterday afternoon (quite possibly when I saw your message about forgetting Pearl Harbor Day).

What really got to me was; I saw nothing during the day concerning either Trump nor Biden commemorating the day.
