    I really do hate funerals.
Well, most of them anyway. I have been to a few good ones.
This is specifically for my mother-in-law.
But when you and your spouse are responsible for the planning and execution it is a pain. Especially when you have it pretty well planned out and then some church members and nieces start making other plans behind your back.
It will all be over tomorrow and if I am to be totally honest; I am glad I let them take the reins and washed my hands of the reception. Way less headaches. And out of respect for Rod's mother, we are having it in the church he was abused by until he was 20. Just being around most of those people gives me hives. But I will smile and be gracious. I have been busy on my computer making picture collages of family. Can't even find any of his useless brother as I will not allow those in my house. If his daughters want pictures of him they can bring them themselves

Okay, just a bit of a rant to help me get through the next two days without the need to alter my consciousness. o_O;)

The worst seems to be over and everything has gone pretty smoothly.
Seriously, both of our blood pressures have dropped considerably. Stress really can affect your health.
Next month is scheduled to be spent on the road doing what we want for a change.

Traveling next week (the28th) is going to be HOT!!!!!! We try to save money by staying in rest stops. But since the forecast is for 90* at 10PM across Nevada; I just made a reservation so we can plug in and run the AC all night if necessary.

On the road again. We have gotten away from the West Coast heatwave. And just paid $3.57 for gas. Funny how things are relative.
The Bonneville Salt Flats are as boring as ever. I could swear that when we made this trip when I was a kid we drove through them for days!

My understanding is that this very characteristic is what makes them such an ideal place for such things as speed trials.

And my mother thought Montana scenery was boring.

We love traveling through Montana. Especially the National Campgrounds along the route where we can park for $7.50 a night. Sadly the Northern route we take into Yellowstone was washed out in June.
Western Michigan is its usual self. ie Mild and clear yesterday with wind, thunder and lightning all night.

Hmm. Saw the blurb on the LP home page about "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law."

Sounds sort of like "Conan the Accountant."

My husband once went to Comicon as
    Conan the Librarian.

Nothing beats 87* weather and 85% humidity.

I stand corrected. Leaving tomorrow for Arkansas where it will be 95 with real feel of 102 and 90% humidity.
At least my sister has a pool.

My advice is to find an ice rink. Best place to come in out of the heat.

We did that a lot when we lived in Hawaii.

It was miserable the first couple of days here. Now it has cooled off a lot. Got in a good day of fishing.
This is where our friends are spending retirement. Totally relaxing.
(Why do we think we want to be farmers?)

I went to Disneyland after work, this past Thursday evening.

The traffic was absolutely terrible, and then it took me a while to find a parking space in M&F Goofy (I finally ended up settling for the far end of the level, knowing it wasn't worth my time to loop around a third time.

So it's after 7, and the security screeners decide that the very small tape measure I carry was no longer acceptable. (It's never been challenged before, at Disneyland or elsewhere).

I surrendered it without a second thought, but the idiot screener repeatedly encouraged me to run it back to my car.

I net, after all taxes, and SIMPLE, and other deductions, somewhere north of $24 an hour, when I'm on-duty. And assuming two visits of 12 hours and one of 4 hours on this year's Southern California Resident 3-day deal, I'm paying something on the order of $12 per hour for my time in DL. A round-trip walk to my car would take some 20-30 minutes, to return a beat-up under-$3 tape measure.

    You do the math.

    Wow! No more tape measures?
My daughter once paid $16 for a locker for a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter that they would not let her take in. (I had told her repeatedly that you have to make the sandwiches ahead of time to get them in.)
She still insisted it saved money over Park food. True I am sure but I felt it was not worth it. Plus she could have listened to her mother. IN WHAT UNIVERSE?!!?

Nothing wrong with the chicken or the chicken penne at the Plaza Inn. I've had worse at much higher prices.

    One of our go tos.
Along with Riverbelle Terrace and grilled cheese and tomato soup at Jolly Holiday.
When we go early next year we will be staying in a motel so we will be having at least 2 meals a day in the Parks. Gotta do some advanced planning for that.

I still miss the peppered-yellow-gravy hot turkey sandwiches from the French Market.

Any more, if I'm having lunch in DL, I typically get a chicken skewer at Bengal Barbecue. Or if DCA, I went to Flo's, but I'm not sure they still have whatever it was I got before.

I do remember that. I think that was one of the things I could get in a kid's meal for like $4.
We usually do the skewers as an evening snack.
We used to love breakfast at Rancho but they stopped serving it. Then we went to Flo's. Acceptable but no huevos rancheros.

Our motel has a Continental breakfast bar so we should be good there. Then lunch and dinner in the Park or order delivery after.
Luckily we have plenty of Rewards$ so it won't dent our budget.

Right now I feel the need to say:
I can't believe my little farm back home is about to become a dust bowl and we just barely made it home from town to my sister's house due to non-stop cloud bursts.
