It's difficult not to conclude that it's just easier to invent a fake black and white situation than it is to engage with the nuance and shades of gray and deep complexities of life.

No, you inferred that. There's a difference.

When the person in question is saying she didn't imply that, and third (and fourth) persons are saying the same thing, you might want to take a step back and say "yeah, okay, my bad." That said, we can definitely be more polite to each other, on this thread and in general.

Can't we agree that someone who commits a crime doesn't equate with deserving to be gunned down? Even someone who throws a punch? If they're guilty, they'll go to jail where they belong, but to blur the lines between "committed a crime but doesn't deserve to die" seems shockingly dangerous.

That's where it gets difficult, and I wish there was a effective, non-lethal way for cops to stop criminals as effectively as a gun, but without killing the criminal.

The cop's safety trumps the criminal's safety in my book if the criminal is threatening a cop. The cop puts himself in harm's way every day for the benefit of all. The criminal is putting himself and others in danger for the benefit of none.

But a criminal doesn't deserve death, even if he or she is a danger to a cop.

But the cop doesn't deserve to be injured or killed, and must be able to protect himself or herself.

Shocker - Since blacks are gunning down other blacks pretty much everyday in cities run 100% by Democrats, its obvious that there are not many " unarmed African Americans " out there.

Here is an idea - Go to church, don't be an as$hole, don't break the law, don't get into trouble and you won't be killed by the cops.

Yeah I know...liberals will never understand this little fact of life as they blame the cops instead of the lowlife scum that is actually breaking the law.
