He could've been arrested for that alone, and when the cops confronted him, he shot them and fled so as to attempt to get away and not go to jail again. This sort of thing could've happened five years ago, 10 years ago, 20 years ago – and has nothing to do with current events or "attitudes towards cops."

Call me crazy, but I think that civilians who throw bottles etc. at police are wrong; I also think that police who shoot unarmed people in the back or kill them in police vans are wrong. But let's not forget that one of the reasons for the protests to begin with is the very lack of accountability – the fact that police have been killing people and not being held accountable for it. Even sometimes when it caught on video, as with Eric Garner. Almost certainly, any protester who commits a violent act and it's caught on video is going to be prosecuted, probably successfully.

And they're going to do all they can, even if it means killing innocent people and ruining other people's lives, to get there.

As for the workplace, I guess I don't know about that. My working career lasted about 35 years. For more than twenty of those years I reported to a woman. Never bothered me that much. Never felt the need to buy a gun or anything. Although a few years back I bought one of those orange and green cap guns with ring caps. I wasn't really angry about anything. I just liked making noise on the 4th of July. Really had nothing to do with women or minorities.
