What if you had a decent job when you started your family, were displaced (they closed the factory) and had to resort to a WalMart job while you retrained for a new job?

I suppose that in your fairy tale world that person is a loser.

That is a good point. But for how long should someone work for minimum wage? If you have any skills at all you will get moved up into a higher paying position.

Minimum wage jobs are not set up to " support families ".

I highly doubt there would be so many working class republicans in this country if they thought that people like you thought they were losers simply by their hourly wage.

    HA, HA, HA!!!!!

I know people who work at WalMart. They don't even come close to your fairy tale numbers. Try halving those numbers.

You remind me of John Elway when he said most people make 150K. I once had a neighbor in SoCal (a building contractor) who thought all College grads made 100K+.

Beau in a perverted way I agree with you. As a long term solution no body can live on minimum wage. But as something short term, sometimes a minimum wage job is necessary. And look at my previous post I know for a fact you would rather have someone working than collecting welfare.

Yes, that's who needs to be put in their place, people working for minimum wage. Who do they think they are, anyway? It isn't possible that they could be 'between jobs' or that some other circumstance beyond their control was involved.

You tell 'em, Beau. Because that's what you need, apparently, to feel like a tough guy.

God wants you to support yourself and your family. God doesn't want you begging for handouts when you are capable of taking care of yourself. You can't support a family on minimum wage. If you are trying to do this you are a loser.

As well as not wanting anyone to have abortions.

That is one of the things about conservatives that make me crazy. They don't want anyone to have abortions, yet that don't want to do anything to make it possible for the mothers seeking abortion (who are largely young and poor) to raise their children.

I swear to God, Beau, do you never fear getting struck by lightening when you set foot into your church?

Oh please. Union supermarkets don't pay clerks that much (my daughter used to work at one).

Just for kicks I did a google. Here is what I found:

    Dept Mgr $10.62
    Sales Assoc. $8.27
    Overnight Stockers $9.29
    Cashiers $8.05

    So there!

The only parable money-worshiping neoconservatives like Beau has read is the Parable of the Talents. The rest of what Jesus taught is completely ignored by the likes of him.

    NO!

He wants you to be saved! Whether you are rich or poor will have little effect that.

Well, you can be darn sure he doesn't dip his fingertips into the holy water font because you know it would immediately start boiling.
